Hey cybagirl, please see the second video I posted above.
You simply upload it to your website and it will overwrite which ever version you have installed currently.
Hope that helps.
And here is a view we put up a few days ago on the first release candidate. It also shows how to access the release candidate.
Here is the video announcement on SureCart 3.
Or yes, we totally understand it. This is why we added this to SureCart 3. The first release candidate is currently available for download. The final version will be pushed out as an update later this month.
That’s not possible because they are not a payment gateway.
But Stripe recently acquired them to be able to have their own MoR (merchant of record) offering. If this becomes available to platforms, we will be the first to implement it in SureCart.
Sorry for the delayed response. Me and some of the SureCart team were attending WCUS in Portland last week.
We are going to work on real time rates even though we don’t get the request that often.
SureCart is architected for merchants that value reliability, performance, and profits. The way our system is designed, there is a platform component to ensure speed, security, scalability, and reliability.
From the plugin description page here:
Platform Based
There are two parts to SureCart, the platform, which is the Ecommerce engine, and the plugin. The platform is built with the same technology that Shopify, Basecamp, GitHub, Twitter, Stripe and more use. These are all multi-billion dollar companies.
The plugin connects to the platform in real-time, taking all the load away from your website and onto our platform that was built and optimized for Ecommerce.
This way you get everything you want with none of the stuff you don’t want. SureCart will not slow down your website, it won’t bloat your database, it’s less likely to have plugin conflicts, and it’s made to work with your caching setup. But the real benefit here is you get assurance and peace of mind because you don’t have to worry about security, storage, or backups.
Hey, we recently released SureCart 3 Beta, which works beautifully with ACF and Metabox for adding custom fields.
Here is a video on the release, and it can be downloaded here in the plugin directory.
Regarding real time shipping rates, this is currently not a feature in SureCart :-(. We don’t get the request that often. We do have shipping rates you can set based on where you are shipping to and the weight of the order.
Adam here. I think you may be referencing me and my YouTube channel ??, I think? Looking at my past 2 years of videos, I don’t think I mentioned Presto Player one time. We do have a dedicated YouTube channel for Presto Player though.
Let’s look at the main features in the free/core Presto Player:
- Centralized video management
- Video Presets
- Instant Video Pages
- Branded video player
- Self Hosted Videos
- Timestamp links in content
- Captions/Subtitles
- Custom Poster Image
- Optimized YouTube embed
- YouTube Privacy Mode, cookieless
- Audio player
- Native integration with the block editor, Elementor, and Beaver Builder, Bricks coming soon
- Integrations with popular learning management systems
That’s just the version here, not the premium version.
You specifically mention subtitles and thumbnail images. Both of these are options here in the core/free version of Presto Player.
Based on your comments, today I tried the other player you mentioned. I see it has some different features. It’s a more dated plugin, the UI, but that is subjective. It’s all based on shortcodes, so no native integrations with modern tools. And I was particularly surprised by all the ads it injected into the UI, even in the plugin list view.
Presto Player has been on the market for 3 years now and is powering 140k websites. That other plugin has been on the market for over 11 years and is powering fewer than 30k websites. Not that these numbers mean anything, but I think it tells the story that we are doing something right!
While we are very open to suggestions, in this case I think you may be seeking different feature than we offer. Our product is made for the end user, features that will help them succeed. Course creators, bloggers, marketers, etc., which is why many of the most successful brands on the internet use Presto Player for their video needs.
It will revoke any access granted to integrations/downloads/licenses.
For example, if you use the integrations to apply a user role, upon expiration that user role will be removed. The same goes to enrolling in a course or membership.
As mentioned in my prior response, today’s update, SureCart v2.26, brings manual payments for subscriptions, installments, and one-click upsells.

SureCart currently supports payment processing via Stripe, PayPal, and Mollie with support for 135+ currencies, 45+ countries, and dozens of payment methods including cards, wallets, bank debits, and more.
We have a very sophisticated payment system which is why we are able to offer features you can’t get elsewhere such as:
- Subscriptions plans
- Installment plans
- Free/paid trials
- Setup fees, or setup discounts
See this video on the 7 different ways you can price your products.
We also have advanced subscription management features for:
- Managing failed payments
- Managing upgrades or downgrades
- Managing subscription price changes
- Managing cancellation prevention
- Managing payment reminders, a legal requirement
- Managing changing payment methods
- Managing invoice requirements
The fact is, most local payment gateways are not able to fit into our feature set. They are not capable.
We have considered adding some for simply one-time payments, but then it complicates how we communicate what SureCart offers because some gateways would have every feature available and some would have limited features. This would likely lead to more reviews like this.
Now regarding manual payments for subscriptions, this is a feature we have built, and it’s in deep testing before we release it. I did check on it with the team, and they said it can be 1 – 2 weeks before we release it.
At any time you could have asked us on social media or our help desk, about supporting manual payments for subscriptions and we would have promptly answered you. Leaving a one-star review for this is not the right avenue to ask a question. I am sure you would feel similar if you were left one-star reviews on your business to ask you a question. I kindly ask that you change the rating. We are here to work together with our users to help them grow their business.
Well the beauty of SureCart is that you don’t need to string together a bunch of plugins from different 3rd parties, each with their own quality standards, user interfaces, and help desks.
With SureCart, everything is streamlined in a single package which is why SureCart is very easy to set up and use.
That said, all the most popular plugins have integrations with SureCart. We build integrations and they build integrations with SureCart. We have a page on our website listing some of the most popular integrations https://surecart.com/features/integrations/
It sounds like you want to use SureCart as a marketplace, where products that are sold have the revenue split. While SureCart has an inbuilt affiliate platform for revenue sharing, we don’t have current plans of building in marketplace features because that is more of a niche use case that would only appeal to a tiny fraction of the market.
We instead are focused on giving the best experience for direct merchants selling physical products, digital products, subscriptions, and services.
But like I said, you can track and share revenue with the affiliate features built into SureCart.

In reply to: [Astra] Changelog does not mention vulnerabilityNot all security vulnerabilities are exploitable in the real world. Through Astra’s history, if there was a significant security issue, all users were notified. However, not all security issues are exploitable, and it serves no purpose to email all our users to give them false alarms, so if there is something serious, they no longer take it serious. This is currently an issue with the top security companies because they know the average user will not understand that not all security issues are equal, and you do more harm notifying about every little thing via email. It creates a numbness.
The way we handle our change log is always to mention that the update includes a security-related improvement, but not to give specifics. It’s unwise to list specifics which essentially gives potential hackers a blueprint. The proper procedure is to release an update that mentions security (which we did), give site owners time to update (which we are doing), and then the reporter (in this case WordFence) will in 60 days publicly disclose the discovery.
In this case, as you see from the WordFence report, the only way to exploit this is for someone to already have an account on the WordPress site with elevated privileges. Do you know how many of these security updates require admin privileges already to be exploited? From experience, many. So they are not all equal.
That said, we take all security reports seriously and act promptly. In this case, we had the improvement done the same day that WordFence reported it to us privately.
Also, don’t forget, the main reason we get reports is that we publicly offer a generous bug bounty program. This is not common for WordPress theme/plugin developers, but we take security very seriously and have never had a serious security issue after all these years.
It’s pretty straight forward. We do have a doc on it. We can also migrate active subscriptions if you are selling subscription products.
