Edit: for anyone who saw the original post that used to be here. It was an ID 10 T error – a syntax issue with a different plugin.
Can you be more specific how to get to that screen? I have Capabilities installed, and I see a lot of entries that I don’t understand, but I don’t see publishpress series anywhere.
I’m the creator and maintainer of the website, btw, and the only person who has done any editing at all. I havent had any issue installing other plugins, so there shouldn’t be an issue here.
No, I didn’t get any update or message that the process had completed.
Sadly, no change.
I see the Upate task button, and click it, and the page reloads as if it has done something.
But when I open the edit for a post this is part of a series, this is what I see
View post on imgur.com
Exactly the same as before.
Interestingly: when I have the latest version of the plugin, it says “No part number” for those posts, but when I roll back to 2.5.13, it correctly shows the part numbers I have manually set.

Your last post says “It is advisable not to” and then ends. What is it advisiable not to do?
With the current version restored, when I go to the Manage series, it does show posts for series. But when I click on the latest series, it doesn’t show all the posts – the most recent posts aren’t there.
(I’m guessing it is only showing posts whose order was managed before the upgrade.)
When I look at the posts in the Add post window, they are shown as added to the series, with no post number.
Then when I edit the post, they are shown as “not part of a series”.

I did see that a few days ago, and completed it. The plugin worked normally afterwards. But this morning, the problem appeared.
Is there a way to trigger that again? The series data is being recognised in older versions of the plugin, so has that upgrade been undone somehow?

I used the WP Rollback plugin to test different versios, and found the last version that worked properly was 2.4.23. Every 3+ version produced this error when I tried to create new tabs: “This block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed.”
Also, if I try to create another tabs block in any post I am getting an error: “This block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed.” So I can’t use the plugin any more.
I have tried the upgrade, and it doesn’t appear to be working.
I have text that I want to be turned into a link:
Character Sheet – HTML Example
And I have added exactly that as a keyword in the post I want to be linked to. It’s still not creating a link.
I have also tried
Character Sheet (HTML)
still no automatic linking.I am using v1.3.9
In case its relevant, the page being linked is named
Character Sheet - HTML Example
and has the slugcharacter-sheet-html-example
Manual linking to the sheet does work, naturally. But when I remove the manual link, and try to use internal link juicer, it doesn’t work.
I had a keyword like:
character sheet (HTML)
and tried again with
character sheet - HTML Example
The place they were supposed to be linked was an unordered list where those were followed by a colon, like this:
* character sheet (HTML):
I’m now wondering if it’s not the linking characters, but the word HTML that is the issue.

In reply to: [ColorMag] Yikes, avoid at all costsI just installed the theme from the WP theme library, so I don’t know how I imported the demo content. Luckily it was a fresh install, so nothing imported was deleted.

In reply to: [ColorMag] Yikes, avoid at all costsI am not quite sure about the part where you have mentioned branding and advertising.
I am referring to the fact it did the following:
* Replaced my site title and subtitle with ColorMag
* Added a ColorMag site logo
* Added several published posts
* added its own Menu pointing to the posts it created
* added its own extensive Widgets, and those Widgets were split into several areas requiring a surprising amount of work to remove them. That’s all I remember off-hand, but just the act of following the standard Install Theme process completely replaced my existing blog (luckily it was a new blog and didn’t have much done on it yet).
