I’ve looked at your site with the credentials you provided. You were trying to create sub-menu’s by creating sub-pages.

In order to create menu’s wordpress has a built in function in the appearance->menu section. It’s THERE where you create menus. By sliding a menu option to the right it becomes a sub-menu item of the one above it.

check your appearance->menu

your problem is solved, but this has nothing to do with the classyfrieds plugin.

from what I can see I am pretty sure this is not a plugin problem but a permalink and/or page-naming issue. Whatever it is it should be simple to resolve.

If you hit the re-initialize button in the classyfrieds admin panel (bottom right) and revisit the admin->classyfrieds->classyfrieds page does everything work ?

Version 3.7 will also have a troubleshooting box built in that you can send to me, but you’ll have to wait 1 or 2 more days before v 3.7 is available to the public.

are you saying you are trying to place the add a listing page in a custom menu as a sub-menu link ??

does the upload form appear when click the add-a-page link in the classyfrieds menu (above the search-box ) ?

do you have a link to your site ?

May I presume you have seen and rechecked the classyfrieds -> classyfrieds menu page where the 2 page urls for the page hi-jacking are set ?

You have another plugin (or theme function ?) active that is adding icons to the WP editor. It appears these icons are only added for admins, however the icons are forcefully added on to the 2ns row of icons in the editor.

Most editor altering plugins add a third row of icons to the editor instead of forcing them on to row 2. You’ll likely also have problems on narrow screens in the wp-admin editor.
You could see which plugin is responsible for these icons, and point the developer to this thread.

I am not sure which plugin adds the icons. Maybe you can choose layout or select fewer icons in a plugin setting ????

regarding your submit button: try switching the active language to something else and then back to english (Or edit the current language for the submit button). The button shows language variable f_submit
( see classyfrieds->language_edit in your wp-admin panel)

You should have no problem going back to earlier versions, but keep in mind that every subsequent version also has security and speed updates built in.

You may be better off trying to explain the problem so I can see if it needs a fix ??

Works fine on our end & on the demo sites.
User does not care to reply to PM’s and has standard themes removed. Could not verify or confirm negative encounters.

Version 3.3 should take care of most of your issues. The sidebar extension detection has also been modified, but will not take effect until you upgrade the sidebar plugin. (drop me a line on PM and I’ll send you the latest version).

Comments were never meant to be implemented on classyfrieds as it was always intended to become a sort of a rolodex system. However, as of V 3.0 we changed our vision and as of V 3.3 you can now allow comments on your classyfrieds listings too. (v 3.3 is uploading to the WP repo as we speak).

yup, the theme overrules the popup CSS and breaks the popups.
All popup’s are styled with clearing floats, but this is counteracted in your theme.

It’s an easy ‘fix’ but it will have to wait for another 24 hours until we have enough changes to warrant an upgrade.

btw never saw the dropbox mail. maybe an overzealous spamfilter gobbled it up ??

p.s. Did notice another glitch/overlap in your theme CSS. It’s a good test-case for css bugs ??
I’ve put it on the list for version 3.3 too.

All functions will work regardless. The sidebar check merely checks for an empty placeholder.

In some rare instances the check is performed before the empty placeholder is in place. We’ve got it market on our to-do list.

Either way your classyfrieds is not compromised in any way by a yellow notice. (When notices turn RED action is needed).

b.t.w. Glad to see you got the theme fixed. I’ll mark that thread as solved. Did you end up removing the 100% height CSS ?

As of version 3.2 (now available) CLASSYFRIEDS Sidebars can be disabled in the layouts & styles sub-menu.

@kevjon – the classyfrieds sidebars were intended to be an integral part of classyfrieds so there is no option to turn them of yet, BUT >>> WE HEAR YA ! I’ll include an admin setting for turning sidebars on/off in the next version. (Please give me a day or 2).

I am curious though as I am trying to find theme’s layouts that appear to conflict with classyfrieds. Can you please provide a link, screenshot, or theme-name (if open source) that seems to have the conflict ??

It’s hard to troubleshoot when I don’t have the problem in my local environment. I am trying to find a theme that throws the same problem, but after dozens of themes I have yet to find a similar problem.

There seems to be an Avada fix in the css part. Can you block out the 100% height on the wp-content/themes/Avada/css/all.css around line # 73 so it reads:
/* height:100% */
On my end this at least fixes all the styling issues, which is not to say I am happy with it.

sidenote: on activation classyfrieds creates two page templates per WP guidelines that hold the single listing and the classyfrieds listings.
This is done so we can include the classyfrieds sidebars regardless of theme-selection and layout.
This should have no effect whatsoever on operation and layout as only on div-container is called named “classy_listing_main” and “classy_listing_single”.

At this point I am leaning towards calling it an inconsistency in the Avada theme and not with classyfrieds.

I realize you probably paid for the theme, but without access to it, I’m afraid there’s not a whole lot more I can do.
