Thanks! I also use WPO for my db optimization — since I’m under the UpdraftPlus and UpdraftCentral umbrella. The WP Rocket warning is a little scary because it isn’t specific as to what isn’t compatible. Hopefully, just WPO’s caching…

Thank you very much for all of the info, Exo. David is the original lead developer of UpdraftPlus, if I recall correctly.

I’m an UpdraftPlus and UpdraftCentral paid customer, but I’ve never been tempted to go pro for WPO: in part b/c I can never figure out what has changed when a new version comes out. Obviously, security updates get a higher prio install, while I take a wait-and-see approach for non-security updates.

I am requesting that a more professional approach be used for communicating changes — the one followed by UpdraftPlus would be sufficient for me. Since there are other products available for database cleaning, I will be forced to migrate if this is not changed.

Same here — I wound up in Recovery Mode and had to disable WPR.

I opened a ticket with WP Rocket.

Thank you very much, WPKube! I should have inspected the code before I bothered you. It didn’t occur to me that it’s theme-derived logic. It definitely is. I’ll reach out to the developer and ask about my options. I’m puzzled by the handling differences between manual excerpts and n-words-auto-generated excerpts, but that may be due to my lack of familiarity with blog post details. I’ve never had occasion to use Elementor Post widgets before or manual excerpts.

I’m an idiot. It was my error, Andy — I had neglected to select the category for the events. I guess that’s why the background color associated w/ the categories wasn’t showing up… :-\
