Have you set up any extensions for files on question settings page? If yes, then check if it is set up properly (extensions should be entered comma separated like jpg,jpeg,png etc)

Can you share your site details on 24[dot]wordgenie[at]gmail.com. It will help us in debugging the issue.We are trying to recreate the issue at our end but it is working fine with latest Wp and Event Espresso version at our end.

Please verify the following things:
1. Upload directory has proper owner and permissions
2. Max upload size of file
3. Do you face this issue in all browsers or specific browser version?These details will be helpful for us for debugging the issue.
Regarding new config method, we are planning to give update with new configuration file.But it should not affect on file upload.

Event Espresso has introduced some structural code changes in their latest plugin code, therefore this warning message is appearing in dashboard. However, the functionality of Files add on plugin works properly as mentioned in documentation and the warning message will not affect any other functionality on your site.
We will soon release the new plugin update with structural changes in code.

Regarding settings page: Currently their are not setting available on this page. Settings page is planned for features that we are planning to provide in near future.
