Would you say there’s an seo benefit with wp compared to a non wp site? Or is it just the difference between automatic and manual seo work?

It powers wordpress.com so big, lol.

I’ve just read that wordpress is great for powering small business sites, suggesting that large sites would never use it.
Also Gabe, I understand about content being most important for that, but I’ve seen wordpress seo plugins of various sorts? Are those more for beginners who don’t know anything about seo, or could they benefit a larger website by more experienced webmasters as well?

I need a static website theme that doesn’t check if it’s a post or page etc, and other redundant blog specific code.

Could I remove the loop and everything between the header and footer, and replace it with raw html, and use the get_header and get_footer functions for the top and bottom sections?
