Well I couldn’t put anything on my homepage cause I couldn’t even get onto that!
I’ve still got the W3 plugin but it’s deactivated now and my site is working again, so I think it was purely GoDaddy

That’s worrying news about the W3 plugin.
Could you tell me how to get rid of everything?

Oh and it was GoDaddy. They’ve had server issues for more then a week. Said so themselves.

Also, I often get an error saying “this site is temporarily down” when wanting to go not only to my admin dashboard, but also for example here on the forum or on other wordpress sites

Same here by deactivating the CK Editor. It’s a pity though. Will need to find another editor now.

Do you know I’ve already posed the question on my theme’s forum a while back and they didn’t go into it.
I’ve first contacted ShareThis-support because I thought it was the plugin. They told me to use Yoast and taht that would fix it. I also consulted my theme’s support forum, but they also just told me to use Yoast. I’ve spent an entire afternoon stressing on setting the settings for Yoast (I use All in One SEO before, which was way less complex) and turns out it was something that simple.

I’m pretty sure it’s the editor, as I’m having no problems inserting images today (with the editor off).

Thank you for your quick response.
I have the latest WP version (3.5.) and I’ve already tried deactivating all of my plugins.
The first time I did that, the problem didn’t seem to lie with my plugins, but I suspected it was the CK Editor plugin I use so I tried turning just that one off once more and that seems to have solved it for now.
I need to get some sleep now, but I’ll look into it even further tomorrow and if it really is the plugin, than I’ll mark this as resolved and start looking for another plugin:/

Update: seems as if the CK Editor was the ‘bad one’.
I turned it off and then tried to
– insert an image in a post I couldn’t insert an image into before
– added captions where I couldn’t before (related to other thread/problem)

Both worked.

Seems like I’ll have to start looking for another editor plugin.
Going to get some sleep now.
I’ll continue working on it tomorrow and I’ll keep you up to date. If all still goes fine when leaving the plugin of tomorrow, this is solved
