It didn’t like that.

I got a blue column then my content appeared after the bottom of the sidebar.

I’ve now cleaned up my html, do you mind having a look to see if the left hand side is still loading after the sidebar loads.

I’m glad there is someone around that knows all the tools of the trade and know-how.

I’ll take a look at the validator and correct what I can.

I had a quick look and some of it was to do with the script for my RSS subscription ie capital letter rather than a small letter, so I think it diagnosed it as something else.

There are no blank lines to remove. The p tag doesn’t appear on all my posts, yet all my posts have been created in the same way.

That works to some degree, now I have added this to my site but I have a few more factors to take into account.

My CSS is:

#sidebar ul li a:hover {
text-decoration: none;
background: url(“images/sidebar_menu_hover1.gif”) no-repeat left bottom;
}
I have added repeat scroll 0% 0% after bottom and added in padding-left: 10px

The remaining words still don’t show because I need to code around the background image properly.

I don’t know much about coding I’m just tweaking a template so tags/classes don’t mean a lot to me half the time.

Any ideas?

As you can tell I don’t know anything about coding, I’m just tweaking the template and have no idea what a lot of the tags/classes do.

I added display: block in the tag and it worked perfectly.

That’s weird, it’s all fonts, the menus, posts, even the writing on my image for the newsletter appears smaller.

Perhaps if you saw the same, then maybe it’s just my PC and I needn’t worry too much.

How do I rectify the IE problem with loading the left hand side?

I managed to get it back somehow, by doing something with the .htaccess file and index.php after re-installing wordpress.

Does it make any difference if both sites are on the same server?

After a few re-installations, I have managed to get it going now.

Not sure what went wrong, it had something to do with the index.php and .htaccess files.
