Sehr aufmerksa!
Excellent, many thanks Tobias.
You’ve been a great help and I will become a supporter.
Hi, sure. This is the page I’m currently building,
https://printerdeler.no/new.printerdeler.no/hp-toner-og-deler/
Thanks.
It’s ok, we can cope with it like that for now thanks, but when we get more time, perhaps we’ll add some code to take the input search string and highlight the result, just to make it stand out from the other items in the row.
Secondly, we would like to have the border of the search box permanently highlighted. You know when you click in the search box, the border becomes highlighted? I would like to have it permanently highlighted. Is it possible to do that with some CSS? Basically we want the search box to yell at customers saying here I am, use me!!!
Thanks.
Seems like it wants to provide a search result for each column, even though 3 of them are incorrect. Kinda weird.
Thanks Tobias.
The Coloring of the row worked a treat and gives the desired appearance, although I just by chance noticed a strange problem and wonder if you know how I may be able to fix it. When I type a printer model into the search box, it’s actually showing 4 results, 3 of which are not related. Let me know if I should share a link to the development page so you can see.
Any ideas? Thanks. ??
Well, after my first attempt, something went wrong, but I now know that’s because I forgot to mention how the layout was gonna be. Because we offer supplies for around 64 Color Laserjet Printers, we decided that we would use 4 columns showing 16 models in each column, instead of one long, continuous column 64 cells long. When I updated the shortcode (after installing the plugin extension) it messed up my table structure in all but the first column. So now, I removed the modified shortcode and set the table back to normal. I added a row which would be used as a spacer before the next family of printer models which will also occupy 4 columns and now I’m trying to figure out if I can in some way change the color of a row so I can make a kind of pseudo header for the next family of printer models (if you understand what I mean?
Thanks.
Ok, wonderful. I’m gonna get busy typing and give it a go. Being stuck inside for the most part is the perfect time to do this kinda stuff.
Many heartfelt thanks Tobias ??
Maybe I’m better to more clearly explain what I want to do. I want to have a list of printers. First, will come around 60 Color Laserjet models. So the header in column 1, cell 1 would say Color Laserjet, and then underneath you would have a list of 60 Color Laserjet Models, then I would want a new header row (preferable colored) to begin listing the HP Designjet models, then once I listed all my HP designet models (probably around 45 of them) I would want another new header to say HP Deskjet. Basically I want to split up the different printer families with a header row (and if possible a 1 row gap). Is it possible?
Thanks.
Many thanks Tobias, I really appreciate your help. I’m not 100% clear on exactly what you mean, but I’ll experiment a bit and if I get stuck I’ll come back and ask as I’m sure you are already incredibly busy.
But, if I (for example) change my shortcode to [table id=2 datatables_rowgrouping=true /]
and then, let’s say I have a list of printer models like Color Laserjet CM 1015 etc, but when the text changes from Color Laserjet to say HP Designjet, it will recognize the change and create a new header row where it detects a change from the text Color Laserjet to HP Designjet?
Many thanks again.
