In reply to: Major problems with the visual editor and no solutions yetMusiczoo, I just looked in the media library. If you click on each file, WordPress gives you more info on them, including the dimensions. (It might even give you the file size; I’m not at the computer, so I can’t remember off the top of my head.) I noticed the dimensions for the two files the user uploaded were massive, so I saved them to my computer (just in case he didn’t have any copies) and then deleted them from the media library.

In reply to: Major problems with the visual editor and no solutions yetI left it up to my client whether or not they wanted to risk uploading them again but warned them that there was no reason at all to upload an image that was 11,000+ pixels wide and probably three or four times that height because it wouldn’t display that way on any display.
It’s nice to at least have figured out what it was. I felt like my brain was going to explode trying to figure out what it could be. haha Again, man, thanks so much for your help!

In reply to: Major problems with the visual editor and no solutions yetFigured it out! It turns out there were two overly-large (5 MB) jpgs in the media library and it caused some sort of memory corruption. Once I removed the two jpgs, the editor worked correctly.
Thanks to MacManX and everyone else that helped!

In reply to: Visual Editor issue after 3.9.2 updateI’m going to try a new post using the information I’ve found in the bug report there. Maybe that’ll help.

In reply to: Visual Editor issue after 3.9.2 updateSomething else I just noticed that might help:
I just realized that I can use the pulldown menus (like the “screen options” menu and the “help” menu in the top right on any page except for the post and page edit pages. So if I’m in the media gallery or in the appearance areas, all of those drop down menus work, but none work when I’m in the edit screens for any posts or pages. I don’t know if that helps or not. Sounds like it might be something blocking the scripts on those pages specifically or not letting them load properly.

In reply to: Visual Editor issue after 3.9.2 updateHmmm, edited the php.ini file and no dice. If it weren’t happening for everyone that’s tried to log in to edit the site – across a bunch of different computers and on a bunch of different browsers – I’d just think it was something like an extension on one of my browsers or something. But we’ve tried on five different computers (Macs and PC), on four different browsers, and with extensions and everything disabled and still no dice.

In reply to: Visual Editor issue after 3.9.2 updateFinished up another clean install. Deleted everything but the wp-config.php file and the wp-content folder and the site came up this time (didn’t crash like last time) but I’m still having the issue with the visual editor.
