Thanks for sharing your ideas. I am planning on bringing back the ability to run separate schedules for files and database.

Using constants for the options is specifically to hide the complexity from novice users.

Are manual backups working?

Are your scheduled backups working?

Does clicking backup and then visiting your wp-cron.php file fire the backup?

You can disable the automatic backups. See advanced options on the manage backups page.

Mis disculpas que el plugin no ha funcionado en 2 de sus 3 sitios, entiendo su frustración, yo también quiero que funcionaba al 100% del tiempo. Lamentablemente la construcción de algo que se garantiza que funcione en el 100% de los casos no es posible, especialmente en lo que BackupWordpress es algo que he desarrollado en mi tiempo libre y estoy dando de forma gratuita.

Could you try updating to the latest version and also de-activating and re-activating the plugin to see if that resolves your issues.

If it doesn’t then let me know and I’ll look at what I can do to debug the issue further.

Thanks for your bug report, I have come across this issue myself and I’m working on a fix.

The good news is that it won’t stop your automatic backups from completing, it’s just the running status that isn’t getting cleared.

As a work around you can simply delete the ‘hmbkp_running’ option from your wp_options table. You can also de-activate / re-activate the plugin as you say.

Thanks for your bug report, it looks like I inadvertently broke the the ability to disable the daily backup in the last release. I have just released version 1.1.2 which fixes the issue.

1.1.2 should show up in the next 15 minutes or so.

To disable the automatic backup you’d want to use

define( 'HMBKP_DISABLE_AUTOMATIC_BACKUP', true );

Could you try updating to version 1.1 and then de-activating + re-activating the plugin.

Then try a manual backup and see if that works. If not could you send me a screenshot of your manage backups page.

Also do you have access to your server error_logs? It would be useful to know for debugging purposes.

Thanks for taking the time to report the issues you are experiencing and apologies that the update hasn’t been as smooth as I would have hoped.

Version 1.0 represents a complete re-write of the BackUpWordPress plugin with the aim to greatly simplify the setup and configuration. Most options have been removed and the old system of backup rules and schedules has been replaced with a simple complete daily backup.

a) The top level backups menu has moved, instead you’ll find it under tools -> backups.

b) By default a complete backup runs once a day. If you update to version 1.1 it provides some advanced options which can be used to turn on database only backups

c) The default directory has moved to backups, I’m sorry your setting got lost in the update, you can change your backups directory by adding define( 'HMBKP_PATH', 'your desired path' ); to your wp-config.php file.

The next version will allow you to disable the automatic backup. For an on-demand backup you can click the backup now button next to the title on the backups page.

I will do some testing to make sure importing the database file into phpMyAdmin works as it should.
