In reply to: [BackUpWordPress] Cannot add 2 email notificationsThanks for the bug report Ian, I just checked and you’re right, it isn’t working.
I’ve created a ticket on github (https://github.com/humanmade/backupwordpress/issues/474), we’ll have the big squashed in the next release.
I didn’t even know this. I never get these mails, about there being an issue because the plugin works fine ??
Heh, in an ideal world, no-one would know about that feature ??
Thanks for the support!
if the plugin would send a notification when the backup fails, but let’s not forget this is a free service, unless you want the premium extensions.
If you enable email notifications then you should get an email if there are issues with a backup.
The power of email notifications ??
FYI, we are planning on introducing some bundles for people wanting to purchase extensions in bulk.
Each license covers you for updates and support for 1 site for one year.
Once the license expires you’ll get a notice in your wp-admin letting you know and you can buy another one to continue receiving updates and support.
There isn’t anything stopping you using the extension without a license, you just won’t receive updates or support.
The ongoing development of the plugin is supported by these premium extensions.

In reply to: [BackUpWordPress] backup to dropbox requires Pro version!Hey Tanveer,
We released the premium extensions in an attempt to make our continued work on this plugin more sustainable. There definitely are other plugins that provide some of the same features for free, however we are 100% focused on making BackUpWordPress the most reliable, robust backups plugin available and to do that we need to ensure we can cover the cost of some of the development we put into it.
Also updraft hasn’t been updated in over 2 years!

In reply to: [BackUpWordPress] Buggy and inconsistentHey Brad,
Sorry to hear it’s not consistently working for you, if you want to ping a message over to support I’d happily take a closer look and see if we can get to the bottom of the issues.

In reply to: [BackUpWordPress] Store BackUp to S3-AccountNot currently, as the plugin has some hardcoded Amazon stuff, although we could fairly easily create an extension for HostEurope.
You could also probably edit the extension fairly easily to get it working with any S3 compatible cloud storage provider. Feel free to email to privately at [email protected] and I’ll get you a free copy if you are interested in having a go at getting it working yourself.

In reply to: [BackUpWordPress] Store BackUp to S3-AccountThere is, we have recently released some premium extensions that allow you to send the backup to several remote services including S3, Dropbox, Google Drive and more.
Check them out at https://bwp.hmn.md

In reply to: [BackUpWordPress] Works Great! Just don't install it twice :)Hey there,
From looking at the screenshot it looks like you have previously uninstalled BackUpWordPress and then re-installed it, unfortunately that caused it to create a new backups directory.
So essentially you ended up with 2 backups directories, the old one with 10GB of old backups and your new one.
I’d suggest either deleting the older backups directory entirely or moving the backups from it to your new backups directory.

In reply to: [BackUpWordPress] Getting php-warning with BackUpWordPress 2.4.1It’s been fixed in trunk (here: https://github.com/humanmade/backupwordpress/pull/433).
We’ll be releasing 2.4.2 asap.

In reply to: [BackUpWordPress] Cannot backup my .sql file in phpmyadmin (Syntax Error)I was able to fix the database using regex, the issue is that timestamps weren’t properly encoded, this was fixed in https://github.com/humanmade/hm-backup/pull/34 so this backup must have been from an old version of the plugin.
I verified that creating a backup of that database with the latest version of the plugin created a valid sql file.

In reply to: [BackUpWordPress] Database size discrepencyWhen I added the files inclusion, it said 83mb, but the backup was only 49mb.
Hey Chris,
It’s because the backup is compressed as a zip so it’s smaller than the actual size of the Database & Files. It’s common for a database to compress 10X or more when zipped up.
