The images kept showing up even after protection had been implemented successfully. But on SiteGround, using the SG Optimizer plugin to purge the cache was crucial for me to see that it was working.

Also experiencing this “Can’t save drafts or publish posts problem”. Only answer so far seems to be to (copy the post elsewhere) then discard the changes and go at it again. I often write outside of WP, pasting in my text and doing a little formatting, so this isn’t a major issue. Even if you have to discard the post, you can also look at an autosave, it might bring you back to where you were, or at least close.

Download “player.swf” (eighth item in the list) from https://developer.longtailvideo.com/trac/browser/trunk/fl5

ftp to your wordpress folder online and go to folder /wp-content/plugins/cool-video-gallery/cvg-player and replace “player.swf” with the new one you just downloaded. Empty cache (perhaps) to make sure the new player is being loaded.

This worked for me.
