In reply to: Screen Options Tab is missingHi again
Is there a simple way to disable the banner, short of signing up for Jetpack?
Id rather not have to go through the whole Jetpack registration deal every time I build a new WordPress site!

In reply to: Screen Options Tab is missingHi
I had to sign up for Jetpack, by registering the site with WordPress, and then the banner went away, revealing the Screen Options tab.
Pretty cumbersome. And a bit uncool, being forced to sign up for a feature like that, but at least it worked.

In reply to: No access to "Screen Options" and "Help"What I had to do actually, was sign up for Jetpack (or rather, ask my client to sign up for Jetpack, which was somewhat awkward, and definitely cumbersome), and once he did, the banner went away.

In reply to: Screen Options Tab is missingIm having the same problem. In the place where the screen options tab used to be, there’s now a big banner ad for Jetpack.
Can someone advise how to make the screen options tab visible again?
Thanks!

In reply to: Putting Blog Title In BrowserThanks for the reply.
Why is it important to have a blog title and tagline, if I dont need them to appear in the header? Is this to help the blog visible to search engines, etc?
And…can you suggest a way to hide them through the stylesheet? Can the font-size be set to zero…or?

In reply to: Linking To Pages From Sidebar? This line of code did the trick (listed the pages in order, removed the “pages” tile, and now — for some reason — the links work, too)
<?php wp_list_pages('sort_column=menu_order&title_li'); ?>
Thanks, Mike.

In reply to: Linking To Pages From Sidebar? Thanks.
I do have that bit of code, and it removed the title from the first, home page link.
But it still recurs above the list of pages, and the page links dont link to the pages, but link to the first post instead.
Im really a coding and WP novice…
I tried “hacking” together the sidebar.php code, and it only seemed to make matters worse.
Having the listed pages link to the pages seems like a pretty standard thing…but I dont know what Im nissing to make it happen.
