I’m thought i was with Knut on that. I’ve always had Settings -> General -> New User Default Role.

I have made about a dozen WordPress sites. Having 2 unidentified people become Subscribers in a default user role was a first for me. I may have deleted them and upgraded WordPress but i still feel it was of enough concern to share.

Literally, became Users in a WordPress Role. How could they that if there wasn’t an option to do so. I never added them. And, as said, the edresses are dodgy.

I have used the plugin on other sites. It’s just a weird scenario. It may really be a problem with my line dropping. Once that’s sorted, i’ll try again. Thanks for the prompt assistance. Have a good weekend.

Hi, Matt. Thanks again! I do use FTP. I haven’t had problems with other plugins the past week but i do have an awful connection problem at the moment. And if no one else is experiencing this, then it must be on my side.

Thanks for that quick response. I downloaded it 2 more times, both finding an error on a different line and saying “fatal error”.

C’mon guys and lasses. Yes, WordPress should have posted a more informative message yet we know what a great platform this is. I lost my stats whilst my blog surged to 2000 pages per day this weekend. Irritating, for sure, but i’m not too concerned because i’m 100% sure that WordPress will not take more than another day or two to fix the problem. Life will continue:)

As a newbie, i try not to ask stupid questions but it’s inevitable that it will happen. But thanks to supportive people like you, WordPress and Dreamhost, i have made some awesome sites the past 3 weeks. Hopefully i’ll be returning the favour to others as i progress.

Hover changes but initial colour does not. I have made it red in the code below but at https://www.wickedmike.com you can see that it remains blue. Nothing “wicked” about that blue:)
