If one is using 2 sidebars, which provides a 3 column layout, when you go to Current Widgets in appearance/widgets, there is a pull down menu for sidebar1, and for sidebar2. The “Save Changes” appears when sidebar1 is shown. But it doesn’t show when I display the contents of sidebar2.

which are the “editor” files?

I’ve re-installed the system a couple of time, piece by piece. (Normally, when I’ve upgraded before, I would simply install the entire top folder, and all items in all subdirectories installed properly.) This time, after I discovered the problem, I installed by moving small groups of files at a time, and comparing that they matched all that was in the source folder.

There are no spaces in folder names. These have been kept exactly as downloaded. Some names are hyphenated. Since this worked before (in the previous version) the folder names wouldn’t or shouldn’t be an issue.

Yes, there is a screenshot.png file in them.

I have all the correct permissions. If I didn’t, then I wouldn’t be able to make changes in sidebar1, which I can, and they can be saved.

The functionality was lost after the upgrade. The button no longer shows.

I’ve been doing this type of thing for a long time; no error in upload. Also, if there was something wrong of that type, then, it would most likely a single file with the appropriate script… and perhaps a reference graphic.

The folks that worked on this will know which PHP file contains the information to show the button as it did before. It would take me quite a while to find and edit the file.
