In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] Update Failed: Bad GatewayOn the other hand, now I see I get the same message “Bad Gateway” when trying to update Yoast SEO. Any suggestions? Maybe this is beyond W3 Total Cache.

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] Update Failed: Bad GatewayOkay, well…after waiting several minutes and reloading the plugins page, I see that thet plugin is now listed. I was able to activate it without running into an error.
Not sure why it seems to be working now!

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] mysqldump error 2020Hi David – Thanks for the reply. I just tried running a backup to get a current log file; the backup aborts. That is, it says “requesting backup” and then that message disappears after a couple of minutes. (Apparently it times out.) When I tried to view the latest log file via the plugin, it returned “Loading log file … Bad Request (error)”.
This happens intermittently, and I can’t figure out why. I’ve upgraded PHP to 7.4, I have the latest version of UpdraftPlus, and I have reduced the split size to 25 mb.
Any clues on this?Now, funny thing is, I just tried running the backup again — and it worked just fine! Except for the PHP errors, as follows:
20210430T080938: https://www.mchesleyjohnson.com/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php
mysqldump: Error 2020: Got packet bigger than ‘max_allowed_packet’ bytes when dumping tablewp_pttl_options

mysqldump: Error 2020: Got packet bigger than ‘max_allowed_packet’ bytes when dumping tablewp_pttl_options
at row: 449`Does this mean the backup didn’t actually work, even though I received the message “the backup apparently succeeded?
I looked at the UpdraftPlus log file, and I’m not exactly sure where to find maximum database packet. I did find this line:
0000.013 (0) UpdraftPlus WordPress backup plugin (https://updraftplus.com): 1.16.55 WP: 5.7.1 PHP: 7.4.10 (cgi-fcgi, Linux walcustpro0402.int.bizland.net 5.4.25 #1 SMP Thu Mar 12 18:39:33 EDT 2020 x86_64) MySQL: 5.6.47-87.0-log WPLANG: en_US Server: Apache/2 safe_mode: 0 max_execution_time: 900 memory_limit: 256M (used: 69.9M | 71M) multisite: N openssl: OpenSSL 1.1.1g 21 Apr 2020 mcrypt: N LANG: ZipArchive::addFile: Y
Thanks for your help, and I apologize for the bump — didn’t realize it was not allowed.

Hi Bryle – My PHP version was set to 7.3. In the past, setting it to the latest version, 7.4, would break my site. I have set it to 7.4 now, the site works, and so does UpdraftPlus. Everything is good now that I’ve set the PHP to 7.4. Thank you again!
Also, because of similar problem some time ago, had added following to wp-config.php
define(‘UPDRAFTPLUS_IPV4_ONLY’, true);
Also, split size is set to 25 mb.
Hi Bryle – As per the article, I forced UpdraftPlus to use IPv4 in the wp-config.php file but also changed the split size to 25mb as you recommended in another thread. I was able to finish the backup successfully. I’m not sure which of the two changes worked, but it does work! Thanks very much.

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] Backup freezesHi Bryle – Yes, I created a new thread. Thanks, Bryle. Here is the file. Also, I set the split size back to the default.

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] Backup freezesHi Bryle – When I go to look at the backup log, I get an error: “Bad request”

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] Backup freezesI am getting the same problem – it says “Requesting Start of Backup,” and then that messages disappears after a minute. When I try to download the most recently modified log file, I get “Loading log file…Bad Request (error).” Worked fine last week, with no changes to any plug-ins since then. Nothing has changed on the server, as far as I know. I did notice the PHP version was 7.3. I have now upgraded to 7.4.10, but UpdraftPlus still fails.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Single Item Ordered Twice by Different PeopleYes, thank you. I did find the problem, though. I had entered the product twice, but with different stock numbers. So, it was possible to order it twice. This also explains the different pricing. “Operator error,” as they say.
