Hi Ben,
Yes, ’tis me again! ?? It seems that every time my site is updated, my sidebar, footer and comments disappear. I honestly hate to keep asking you to help me (you have gone above and beyond for me) and if I knew how to insert the proper code, I would. The comments/issues presented above are the same as I am currently experiencing. My guess is that the child theme needs a quick fix.

Can you help me yet again, or explain how I can insert the proper codes?

I contacted the plug-in author and it was a simple fix. Thank you again for all of your patience and perseverance to make everything right!

I just changed the Display Thumbnail setting to “Always” and the feature image on recipe posts now displays. Is this what you would have recommended for me to do? Anything else I should adjust?

The Display Thumbnail setting is set to “Only on Archive Pages”

Yes, ’tis strange. The feature image disappears on “recipe” posts only. Regular “posts” are unaffected.

I deactivated all of my plugins, except the recipe plugin and the feature image issue remains. Does my child theme need to be adjusted or should I contact the recipe plug-in author?

here are examples of feature images not appearing in the full text when using my recipe plug-in:

however, when you visit my site https://whatsusaneats.com, you will see the feature image in the summary. however, when you click on the full text, the feature image does not appear.

Perfect – you are the best! Thank you!!! I downloaded the new child theme (can’t believe I remembered how to do it) and all is good with side bar and footer.

So the last issue (which I may need to direct to the recipe plug-in author) is that the feature image, on already published (and on draft “preview” recipe posts), does not appear when I click on the post for the “full text.” However, it does appear on the “summary” of my posts when you visit my site (am I explaining this correctly?!).

Please let me know if I should contact the recipe plug-in author regarding this issue and many thanks for all of your help!!

I apologize for not responding sooner. Again, I’m sorry, but how do I get a copy of my original child theme to you?

Also, I am currently working on several recipe posts which are in “draft” form. When I try to set the feature image, it doesn’t display when I preview any of the posts. However, when I set feature image on a “regular” post (i.e. not through my plug-in) it displays on the preview.

Ben, please bear with me as I don’t know how to download my child theme from my site. I found the original child zip file that you gave me in February 2015. Would this be useful to you (instead of having me download the child)? Also is “wordpress/wp-content/themes/ignite-plus-child/” a URL? I can’t get to it.

I switched from the child theme to Ignite Plus and the side bar and footer issues are fixed. Yay!

So now I’m back to the issue of visitors not being able to comment on custom post types (which is why I had the child theme). Several months ago you had forward instructions on how to do this, but I can’t find the thread/email. Can you help me out with this? I was gong to reactivate the child, deactivate my plug-ins and and reactivate them one by one (as you suggested above) but perhaps you have a better solution now that the sidebar/footer issue is resolved?

Also, I can only view Page 1 of my posts. They is no way to get to the other pages (i.e. nowhere to click on 2, 3, 4 next)

Quick question – now that I’ve activated the child theme, my site seems slower – taking longer to load each page. Is this normal and is there any way to speed it up?
