Hi wfpeter-
I’m still on this, just splitting time between this project and others on my plate.
One thing I can say is that we do need to go through our proxy, for security reasons. Colleagues said that our proxy my need to be configured to access your servers. Yet the WF diagnostics report says that it’s all good.
According to https://www.wordfence.com/help/advanced/
Wordfence Central and plugin services also uses the following IP addresses to connect to sites:
54.68.32.247
44.235.211.232
54.71.203.174I’m *not* using Wordfence Central. Does “plugin services” refer to Wordfence Central plugins, specifically or the overall WF plugin?
I should mention that the WF scanning comes back w/ functional errors as well. I’ll run it again to get specific details.
Thanks again for your help
Thank-you wfpeter, I’m still actively working on this issue and appreciated your continued efforts on this problem. I will look at the proxy related issue more and report back
I just checked –
We can connect to the following:44.239.130.172
44.238.191.15
35.155.126.231One more note about network access to WordFence servers.
The WF diagnostic report said that the plugin could indeed access your servers. Do I still need to manually check the ports listed on https://www.wordfence.com/help/advanced/#servers-and-ip-range ?
Hi-
I followed your instructions and tested /tried them all. The site’s directories are 755 and the owner of the WP site’s root directory (and all its directories) is apache (running RHEL 8).
I tried bypassing writes to the file, and instead write to the MySQLi storage engine. Followed the instructions at : https://www.wordfence.com/help/firewall/mysqli-storage-engine/
Even restarted Apache afterwards, for good measure.
Still getting the same message:
Rule Update Failed
No rules were updated. Please verify your website can reach the Wordfence servers.Your help w/ this is much appreciated
whatsthewordAs instructed, I added the IP address for our proxy to “+Edit Trusted Proxies”. The IP is now listed within the diagnostics page, but I’m still getting the same message:
Rule Update Failed
No rules were updated. Please verify your website can reach the Wordfence servers.Thank-you for your attention to this matter.
