In reply to: I need help for “The link you followed has expired.”my car won’t start
what’s wrong with it?
the point i’m making is that it’s probably not possible to help you given the limited information you’ve provided
what link?
where is the link?
what website?
what error?Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Default editor styles for classic editor> I was wondering if there’s default styling for the classic editor as well?
certainly should be – if you open your browser console you should see the requests
in my case with WP 5.3.2…
/wp-includes/js/tinymce/skins/lightgray/skin.min.css /wp-includes/js/tinymce/skins/lightgray/content.min.css /wp-includes/js/tinymce/skins/wordpress/wp-content.css

In reply to: MD5 sum for plugins directory constantly changing@valentinbora – you could be right
what i don’t understand is why CSF appears to be reporting changes to all plugin files for all plugins if only 1 is writing a log file
perhaps i’m not understanding CSF’s file monitoring function well enough??? there doesn’t seem to be much documentation on it
i’m also not sure if i’m providing the correct path to CSF –
/plugins
verses/plugins/

In reply to: [Broken Link Checker] php ‘open_basedir’ warningsingling out redirects may be incorrect on my part – it looks like “broken” links that aren’t broken are being listed as 404
looks like many/all of these are links to archived pages
example working URL:
https://archive.vn/20170424130428/https://la.indymedia.org/news/2003/04/47530_comment.php
this exact link is marked as broken in BLC – there’s over 300 of them
as for what is/was going on with redirects, i don’t know – i haven’t changed with open_basedir and before there were tons of redirects listed as broken, but after i flushed the DB it looks like all is ok at the moment

In reply to: MD5 sum for plugins directory constantly changingi don’t know how CSF is doing the checks so i can’t really compare, nor am i a developer – all i know is that it’s using
md5sum
andls -laAR
, so i’m still stuck as to why it’s seeing MD5 changes on /plugins filesForum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: font awesome icon showing up as squareno expert here, but i can’t find anything wrong in css, network requests, etc
just as a test i changed the icon to
"\f0e1"
and i get an icon, so i’m wondering if the icon you selected in your theme actually exists? can you see it on the backend in t=your theme settings? and if so, make sure it’s the same icon on the front ("\f0e0"
) as it is on the backi understand your theme provides these icons? if so, i’d contact the developer
if you want to try another plugin for social icons, i might recommend Shariff Wrapper which i think is a very good, light and ethical plugin

In reply to: [Broken Link Checker] php ‘open_basedir’ warninghi Dimitris
the message i quoted isn’t exactly an error message – it’s from BLC settings -> general -> debug
in php.ini open_basedir is commented out…
;open_basedir =
a php info file for open_basedir tells me…
/home/admin/:/tmp/:/var/tmp/:/opt/alt/php73/usr/share/pear/:/dev/urandom:/usr/local/php73/lib/:/usr/local/php73/lib/:/usr/local/lib/php/
i don’t want to disable open_basedir because of the security issues, so i’m at a loss as to what to do
it’s my understanding BLC needs to write to /var/tmp, but that’s already defined so i don’t understand the warning
indeed it appears that BLC is marking all redirects as broken

In reply to: [Cache Enabler] apache htaccess advanced cache setupthanks for the info Cory … i use what i think is an excellent WP plugin, ‘HTTP Headers’, which made it super easy to add the (not so) necessary headers

In reply to: [Cache Enabler] apache htaccess advanced cache setupthanks Cory
i’m also curious about the results of gtmetrix which grades poorly regarding caching…
PS: Leverage browser caching (75)
YS: Add Expires headers (56)the missing expire headers bothers me most – i have ‘Cache Expiry’ set to 1 hr.

In reply to: [Cache Enabler] apache htaccess advanced cache setupah, ok, i saw it in the docs now … might want to move the “How can I verify …” part to the “Advanced Configuration” section perhaps ??
also i think you got it backwards at keycdn…
“If the X-Cache-Handler header is not present, then your advanced configuration snippet is properly implemented.”
