In reply to: IE/Mozilla Different WidthsAt a guess, it’s this in your CSS;
#content {
text-align: left;
margin: 0px 30px 0px 240px;
color: #052691;
width: 70%;
background: transparent;
}
If you want a fixed width site, change the “width” line to whatever size you want (i.e. 500px).
One major factor is that IE and Mozilla both process CSS differently, so in one browser you site can look perfectly good, whilst in another it can look pants. IE in fact isn’t 100% CSS complaint, and don’t expect it to be in the future!Forum: Everything else WordPress
In reply to: Bot behaviorYou could use a robots.txt in the root of your web site to stop this kind of activity.

In reply to: What would you want in a hosted WordPress service?Why use Perl for contact forms? Any e-mailing using forms I use are written in PHP and can talk directly to a SMTP server.
Talking about the stats, you could use Webalizer, great thing is it’s free and has been released under the GPL.
Maybe some pre-made styles for the hosted blogs could be included? Such as Root’s Gemini Interface.
How about a nice picture gallery? as most bloggers upload photos (I know I do). Gallery on SourceForge is your best bet for that.
Hope that helps.Forum: Plugins

In reply to: .htaccess gives 403 forbidden?chmod it to 777, that gives everyone write access. Once you’re happy with it, chmod it to 655.

In reply to: mod_rewrite problemYour web host needs to have the “mod_rewrite” module loaded in Apache otherwise it will result in 500 Internal Server Errors.

In reply to: Born tonight, brand new, bouncing baby blogOOooooh, a model plane! .. Sorry but I fly them! ??
The image of the model looks like a profile shot, i.e. as if it was on a table. Maybe one of them flying would be better? ??Forum: Your WordPress
In reply to: Tell me what you thinkActually, I agree with enter. Justify your content text, it would make it look much nicer!

In reply to: Your thoughts?I wouldn’t worry too much about Permlinks, as your web host will need to have mod_rewrite loaded. If you’re unsure of it and unsure how to use .htaccess, I would personally steer clear of it.
