Thanks Kevin for the answer. I’d thought about a child theme as a solution, but wondered whether there was something simpler.

What I’d like is to display the full text of the current issue on the home page immediately below the header. Below this will be a button link to https://someweekendreading.com/archive.

All other past issues will be available in a two-column layout in the Archive section, with 10 issues displayed per page.

Post Script: I’ve decided to test two different home page layouts:

1. One with the two columns as described above.

2. The other would only have a single column to display the entirety of the current issue. In this case, the issue is how to limit “Latest Post Displays” to one post rather than two. I’ve created a separate question for this issue because I think others may encounter the same issue.

1. The first CSS suggestion worked perfectly.

2. I can live with the current spacing but was curious about what the CSS is so I can play around with the spacing.

What CSS changes do I have to make in the following CSS to keep the header full width and just apply the left and right padding changes to the body of the page? I’ve used:

‘.contentclass {
padding-left: 20px;}
.contentclass {
padding-right: 20px;}’

It works but obviously adds padding the entire vertical of the page.

Nothing. Not working for me. Really frustrating. 45 minutes I won’t get back in this lifetime.

I added the [simple-social-share] code in the page in both text and visual mode. Tested draft posts, live posts.

Did all of the suggested steps below after installing plugin, excepting “For debugging you may check all the options i.e Home, Posts, Pages and Archives” which is an absurd suggestion. Sounds a bit like add tape anywhere you think the box may fail in transit.

“To use the shortcode make sure you have configured the below thing in the plugins setting page:

At least one service is selected from ‘Select services’
Either or both ‘Before Content’ or ‘After Content’ has been checked in ‘Select Position’
Appropriate option is checked on ‘Show on’. For debugging you may check all the options i.e Home, Posts, Pages and Archives.”
