You can also modify the sidebar.php file to exclude any pages you do not want to show.
I would recommend copying the theme into the wordpress “wp-content/themes/” folder so that if you update in the future, you won’t overwrite your changes.

This will take care of the issue you described with wrong versions being shown to wronb devices.
