Found it !

It was a plug-in in cooperation with another plug-in who did the mess.

I simply disabled all the plug-in, and turned them on one by one.

These two plug-ins was a part of a plug-in package from SiteOrigin.

It′s a rather new website, so there is few plugins.
But I have already tried to disable each one of them, one by one.

Sadly without any result ??

Last star was meant as incitement to improve ??

But one thing, and it might be an user error on my behalf, is the ability to see the pop-ups every time as long as your logged in as admin.

This is especially when you in settings set the view to one or more times.

Just a thought !

And I am logged in as administrator ?

The menu disappeared just after the update. Could just as well have deleted the plugin – It gave the same result ??

Backup is in place. No problem there. Right now the website is running as usual, so have not considered a restore. But perhaps it was a good idea.

Regarding the log, I will investigate it. I do have a audit log running on the wordpress installation, and there was nothing showing the cause to the problem. But I will followup on your suggestion.

The idea of renaming the folder is a very good one. Will do it later.

I′ll post my findings as soon as there is news !
