In reply to: [WP Opulus] Getting Rid of Auto-listed Categories in Sidebarsimple – thanks so much. I guess that happened on the update yesterday. I have a child theme now so I assume it will not happen in the future. Is there anyway to have the “archive…” show up below a widget (the widget would display below the “Archive…” assigned to a page or show up on designated pages? Thanks again

In reply to: [WP Opulus] Getting Rid of Auto-listed Categories in SidebarThanks rrfxk. got it. ha ha no parent tab made.
WPyogi –
after the theme was updated yesterday, the following started to happen –
do you have any thoughts on why a page will display in the side bar area the pages listed under a parent page? in other words,
a parent page created and
then other pages created that specify the parent under the “page attribute” section of the page editor.
if you go to the page that specifies a parent page, a list of the pages under the parent (as links with a “+” in front) show up on every page that links to the parent. In addition, if you try to put a widget on a page via the nimbus widget area on the page editor, the widget shows up below the listing described above.
FYI – there are no widgets that specify listing pages in use.
thanks for your help
correction in re: line “them” should read as “theme”

In reply to: [WP Opulus] Getting Rid of Auto-listed Categories in Sidebarthanks. Glad you figured out your problem.
My mistake, my problem is that my “page” links show up in the sidebar area after the last update of the theme yesterday. And, it lists them in a hierarchial fashion based on assignment of a “parent” page. And, I am not using a page widget.
In addition, should you use a child them before changing code in the parent?
what do you mean – “who is with those guys!”?

In reply to: [WP Opulus] Getting Rid of Auto-listed Categories in Sidebarin addition, the automatic category sidebar appears on many pages but not all pages. it seems to show up on pages that have been assigned a parent for the most part but in one instance, it does not show up on a page that has been assigned a parent????

In reply to: [WP Opulus] Getting Rid of Auto-listed Categories in Sidebarsame here. is there a way to manipulate the layout? in addition, if you choose to use a nimbus sidebar, the category sidebar takes on the number one position. in other words, there is no option to choose another widget to show up first or at the top, above the category sidebar.
