Sounds like the Database did not create all the way. could still be perm issue as mentioned but, sounds like it may need to be re-installed, database also. Make sure the WordPress software you are installing meets the requirements of the different server’s software services such as PHP, MySQL, ect..

I think some WordPress SEO Plugins allow you to do this.

I like to use WordPress SEO Plug-in and it has the option to change page title, hide them, and even more. You can add SEO elements to images things like that. Different themes may affect things, but I think you may get the results you are looking for.

Can you view the error logs and if the error log mentions anything about the theme or a plugin, disable pluging or change theme. Start with error log if you have not already.

some themes require sertain software to be running on a server, Some hosting providers leave it off for a good reason, and can enable them for you at your request, What ever you are insatlling a theme or plugin, look at the reqururments and ask your host provider if they are all running. By default execution time is 30 secounds
sometimes more may be required. Normally this can be adjuste in your php.ini file.

look for the line: max_execution_time = 30
change 30 to 180 or more, restart apache if your on a shared server ask them if they can change it for you, or let me know, I am happy to help.

well localhost should always be local host unless you do something to need it to be different. If its not local host may i ask what it is?

I can help you with this, its not that hard, just depends on how you installed it in order to lead you in the right direction. It is a common issue easy to fix in most cases.
