In reply to: Creating Thank You Page w/ WordPressYou can make a thank you page directly in your paypal account, but you should be aware that selling a PDF’s online is considered a ‘virtual’ transaction, and you will get many chargebacks, meaning basically someone will buy your PDF, and then claim that they never authorized the charge and so they will get their money back from paypal, and you will have given them a free PDF. You would be much safer using a service like Moneybookers instead, where they cannot do chargebacks. You can also use something like WP e-Commerce, just click –>. The demo version is free and and should do everything that you need.

In reply to: Internet Explorer Problem Please Help…Wow that’s a lot of errors. See if it validates with the default theme. If it does then you might just be better off finding another theme instead. The menu at the top os not centered either…

In reply to: login – logout – profile links?THANK YOU Len, it seems to work well, except for the fact that it shows regular users a ‘Site Admin’ link. Do you happen to know why it does this? Why would a registered site user need a admin link? Shouldn’t only the admin see that?

In reply to: Hacked but no idea howYou should probably compare notes with this user. Maybe you could narrow the problem down to using a certain plugin or the same version of wordpress, etc. Hope you both can find and plug the security hole soon.

In reply to: Safari Issues & WordPressLOL ?? So this is the problem? We were trying to figure out why we were (are) having SO MANY issues with the WYSIWYG editor in wordpress. We even wrote our post out in a HTML editor to fix all of the problems but as soon as we pasted it back in and clicked ‘Save’ we were right back at square one ?? It was getting SO frustrating that we were actually thinking of switching away from wordpress to another type of blog software. Glad we found this thread. I am PRAYING that wordpress fixes this problem soon! I’m not sold that it’s a Safari issue because no other WYSIWYG editor is having any problems on Safari 3.0, including the one that we use to manage all of our vB forums. I guess we could use FF temporarily, but if this issue continues much longer it’s going to be bye-bye wordpress, as it took us 40 minutes to post a simple 5 minute page just to get it to look right. Fingers crossed that something gets fixed soon!

In reply to: Server overload – Site got suspended. What am i doing wrong? You shouldn’t need a dedicated server, although that will obviously solve the issue. Neither of the host that you mentioned are very good. We’ve used a lot of hosts and most of them are pretty much the same. A few (like site5) stand out as being better though. I would check out their forum where you can ask any questions that you need and they will take care of you. I would also make sure that your plugins are current for the version of WP that you’re using. Also, how many plugins are you using? Too many plugins will increase the chances of plugin incompatibility. Might be time to do some early spring cleaning.

In reply to: Conditional comments ie6 ie7We place all of our ie code in a separate CSS file named ie6.css and ie7.css. One day maybe people will realize how bad ie is and switch to another browser, and then coders won’t have to make special conditionals just for ie ??

In reply to: FaviconsOops…. almost forgot, Internet Explorer browsers (as of version 6.x) associate favicons with bookmarks. So you must first bookmark the web page. The favicon will appear on the browser address bar and on the Favorites menu, the second time you visit the bookmarked page. If the favicon doesn’t appear even after bookmarking and revisiting the web page, clearing the cache and restarting the browser should help.

In reply to: FaviconsYou shouldn’t need to mess around with any script for a Favicon to show up. You simply make it 16×16 or 32×32 and place it in your root directory. If it’s not showing up that doesn’t mean that it’s not there. Post your URL (digital-newworld.com?) and let others check it for you. Most of the time that Favicons don’t work it’s because they were placed in the wrong directory or the browser needs refreshing.
