  • Quick Question: @gjanezic Have you customized or changed the default emails? (/wp-admin/admin.php?page=wc-settings&tab=email)

On the sites that have working HTML emails $encoding = ‘8bit’, on the broken
    ones $encoding is ‘quoted-printable’.

So I don’t think this is the problem. By default, mine is ‘8bit’ and I changed it to ‘quote-printable’ – in both cases, the emails come out perfectly fine.

    if (‘base64’ != $this->Encoding and self::hasLineLongerThanMax($this->Body)) {
    // $bodyEncoding = ‘quoted-printable’;
    }

As above, I also don’t think this is the issue.

So my guess is still that, either you changed the emails (templates) or your server environment is messing up the encoding of the emails. Have you tried using a service (like SMTP or Amazon SNS) for your emails?

    Thanks.

Seems this may be a host-related issue.

I’m also having a difficult time reproducing this issue. I have a fresh installation and it works fine.
I’ve even tried using StoreFront. EVerything works fine from here.

If you’re still having this issue, do a fresh install somewhere else (another server) or move your site elsewhere and see if the issue persists?

    Thanks

    What theme are you using?
Have you tried checking your folder permissions? Are you using a Security Plugin?

    Let me know these.
    thanks.

Your website still has the old URL https://www.ioriandrea.it somewhere. There are a number of possibilities below with suggestions. Please review them.

    1. Your Database Options still has the OLD URL as the Site/Home URL.
    2. Your wp-config.php file may have the URL coded in there.
    3. Your Server or WordPress Cache may still have the old URL and redirects to it after login.

Please follow the suggestions in this link to fix the problem.

But basically edit your wp-config.php file and/or change the settings from the database (see the link above).

Let me know how it goes.

    Thanks

I’m glad your host provider was able to sort you out.

It seems your hosting provider probably installed some additional plugins or settings for you by Default – WP Security. That setting is not a WordPress default. You could read more about this plugin and how to make the best of it.

I’ve personally used this plugin and if you do some slight reading, its easy to figure out. Take some time to check it out.

I must add a word of caution, every security plugin secures your website by changing some of the regular settings, so you should always proceed cautiously and not turn on or change anything you aren’t sure of.

    All the Best.

Thanks for you input. I’m trying to re-create the issue you have on my server. I have installed the plugins you listed but I still can’t find where I can change login url like you did.

Hi! I changed login url to domain.com/adminxxxxxxx instead of domain.com/wp-admin. After that i activated the automatic logout via wp security so i got automatically logged out.

Not via a plugin but some other setting through the security tab i think it was.

I need to know how to access this security tab.

    A few questions:
What WordPress theme are you using?
Do you have FTP access (where you can see all the files on your server)?

    Hang in there,
    The solution is close by….

Hi uxalys, Can I ask how you changed the login url? was this via FTP or a plugin? If a plugin, what plugin?
    Thanks

@jeff Farthing. WPEngine: Yes and they did. It didn’t work.

I think (95% sure) its my theme. I switched to TwentyFifteen and it all works fine.
My theme (https://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/5489609) has some custom login hooks that I think are interfering. Raised the issue with the author, but still looking for a simple (even if temporary) fix.

@Everyone-else, try switching themes to know if your theme is the culprit.

    Thanks

Having the same issue! Is there no fix for this?
WordPress 4.5.3, TML 6.4.5. Hosted with WPEngine.
    Error Message:
“Your password reset link appears to be invalid. Please request a new link below.”

I thought this should be an easy fix?

Nick, when you disable the Default list, don’t you think that creates a security loophole? #just thinking

Wonder if there is an alternative.

    Thanks

    Thanks for this reply John.

But doesn’t this create a security loophole if these useragents are removed from the banned list?

Also doesn’t the plugin re-add them when upgraded, deactivated and Reactivated or reconfigured?

    Thanks

One thing I noticed though is that my javascript files are always reported infected again soon after I replace them with genuine ones…

    Sucuri SiteCheck
    Malware found on javascript file:
    /wp-includes/js/l10n.js?ver=20101110
    Malware found on javascript file:
    /wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js?ver=1.6.1

Had a similar problem and found out that my wp-settings.php had extra lines at the end. I deleted this lines and all was fine.

The problem I have now is that, the above has happened twice within a week. Any idea what the cause is?
On another wp-installation of mine (same hosting account) my website is inaccessible and my wp-settings.php was actually empty!!!

Any permanent solution??? I will change ALL my passwords for extra security reasons….
