Hello,

Just installed this widget, set it up as suggested but when I enter the city in the provided field the spinning wheel is turning and never stopping. Is there a solution for this issue?

We had a temporary issue with a callback to our server retrieving locations. The issue has been solved.

Otherwise, this widget is useless if I cannot enter a city to show the weather.

Obviously.

Now I realized that this widget which was installed 1 year ago, does not work anymore. It shows completely wrong weather details. If there is no update with a workable widget, this plugin should be removed from here.

The widget works.
It would be more productive if you had posted the URL where the “not working” widget is installed.

In short:

In the Admin panel “Appearance > Widgets”, set (temporary) the widget in a sidebar.

The basic shortcode (with city_selector) is generated when choosing a location.
A below-generated shortcode is a link “shortcode – all options” that shows all options for customizing the weather widget.

After generating the shortcode, and setting the options – remove the widget from the sidebar.`

If you still can not retrieve the city selector ID, post the city here.

I apologize for the late reply.

Unfortunately, we can not unprotect a single site from being automatically blacklisted if using over 20 locations.

I have manually removed https://culturetourist.com from the blocked list.
If you desire, you can add the widgets again (less than 20), and they’ll work as usual.

Thank you for the suggestion.
At the moment we are in between adding new features to our site and choosing a weather data provider (maybe even a wunderground.com), so adding this option depends on the provider plus a need for this option.

If this option gets added we’ll let you know.

rarely there’s a glitch on the transmitting or receiving side,
but on the next update, in 15 mins, the data is fetched again, and the issue self-resolves.

as always, without the link to the pages with the widget, we can not examine the issue.

there is an issue with
either
1. caching of the pages (common problem – please read about caching issue on other threads)
change the weather for the location (“dot” in the upper right corner) and then visit https://www.sierrasdelaventana.com.ar/?1, you’ll see new location.
Without “?1” at the end you’ll see old location – as the cached home page is being shown.
and/or
2. stuck transient data in your table (please deactivate and activate widget – that should delete transient data for Sierra de la Ventana)

From the code you have provided it looks as the issue is with quotes, you are missing rgba in background_color. Also, the width of 150px is too small…
