Ok. So I’d recommend you ask the folks at Woocommerce.com. My guess is they removed shortcode rendering from variations description. They will be able to help you.

I would think that shortcodes are not rendered any more at that place. Have you tried using that shortcode on a regular page to see if the plugin itself is functional?

Well, I’m not sure I understand but you could put your register-form on a password protected page.
And if you want the whole site to be visible only to people who know the password you could use a plugin like this one Password Protected but that protects the whole site.

I read up a bit about this and it seems a bit unsecure to use allow_url_fopen. I read recommendations to use CURL instead or as a fallback for people like me!
Might that be a solution for future versions?

I am also dying to have that function. Plugin would be perfect for me if this is implemented. New site using that is due in spring 2017… so still some time… Is there anything we can do to speed it up? Like donations? ??

But I’m sure the problem is not with the template because the descriptions are saved without breaks in the database. So no matter what the template tells it, it will always display without breaks.

I tried something else: Went right into the database and added breaks (by hitting return) in the description.

After that it was displayed the way it’s supposed to. So I am quite sure the breaks are removed during saving process.

@photocrati again, thanks for answering and sorry if this is annoying ?? But I don’t see the problem in the template as the way the caption is displayed in the backend has changed. Before it was possible to insert text like this:

and after saving it would STILL look like this in the backend.
But lately, the text in the BACKEND reverts to THIS after saving :

So all the line breaks are gone and could not be output by the template.

But I will probably tell my client that he has to learn to insert
for breaks…. so be it!
