Yes renaming the .htaccess file fixes it.

actually there is pretty much nothing in there

Other sites I have used iTSec have a lot more..
the Version I have is Version 4.8.0

So for some reason it hasnt written to the .htaccess file
Even tho the code is listed in the Dashboard and under Rewrite Rules.
There is no button to say Update the .htaccess file..

Even after copying this manually there is still the same error

well just so you know. My questions were about the version of code hosted in the WordPress repositories. Got no answer so I went to their forum and got no answer, yet other questions were answered.
So I gave them a one start here.
If you looked at other one starts for THIS product they say the same..

I guess trying to get answers before I have to go and signup to a forum is a problem.

I want to know a couple of things but waiting so long to get answers is a worry.
Not only do the demos not work, but I see the listings is very limited and shows in a very narrow untidy way..

So without demos to view I guess I will have to continue my search for another plugin

Ok I have had to deactivate this plugin as it is causing problems with my site.

maybe I mean a cascading or Fold menu

am guessing this plug is failing.

I love Duplicator and use it often.
but what I do is activate it, use it, then download backup files.
then delete backup files off server and deactivate Duplicator.

That what if you see something like this then you would have a better idea if it is actually the plugin or some phishing attack anyway..

I posted in here yes. for support. AFTER I saw many many other threads saying they too had problems with the Update. Then unlike many others I solved the problem by reverting back to an older version.
I was preventing others who saw the thread NOT to update or they too would have problems and as you have seen there are many who dont know how to fix or revert back to an older version.. So their sites would have errored or as some have CRASHED…..

If you as a moderator take this as Non- Constructive then close this thread.

I am in a internet group of over 800 members and many are watching this thread and many have emailed me with the comments of I am right you warn others..

If the Thread had been left or was changed to a warning then this would not have gone on with you deleting posts because they go against your personal thoughts..

Be a constructive Moderator and not a destructive one…

Why is it a Moderator will keep deleteing what others are saying? do they not like someone speaking their own mind on here..

Not sure where you can get old version from but NextGen Site is currently down as I type this..

I have an older version if you want it

Lucky I had a copy from a backup I did.
but basically I just uploaded the old version over top of the new version that was on my site into Plugins and ngg_styles.
Don’t delete or de-activate the new version.
Just Over write the files. Upload them via FTP etc

OK UPDATE..

I reverted back to version V2.0.66.37 as that was what I had before.
It now all works ok..
So new version is currupt and at this point does Not work properly..

WARNING!!! Dont up date plugin for NexGen Gallery just yet..
