Thanks – worked perfectly ??
Decided to go back to http for this launch and move to a better host after launch. I would still be interested if anyone has any ideas what the issue would have been
@ironsea – go in to the file manager, navigate to the /wp-content/plugins directory, find the woocommerce-checkout-manager folder and rename it to something else (any change will trigger WordPress to deactivate it on next load and will clear the error.
Looking at the files in the plugin directory, it seems like there may be an issue with the zip file for this version. File names are truncated and whole directories are missing.
Basically, the developers will need to reload a non-corrupted zip file of the plugin to the repository (preferably with a new version number so that we know it is safe to update).
Until then DO NOT UPDATE TO VERSION 4.0. It will break your site.

In reply to: urls not pointing to pages/posts within my siteWhat do you have your permalinks set to? Do you have any plugins installed that might be redirecting pages?
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Same permalinks for mulitple pagesWordPress forces different permalinks for each page. This is so that there is no confusion what page should be displayed when a particular URL is requested.
You can link multiple pages to your about page, but you can only have one page with the “about” permalink.

In reply to: mobile websiteWe will need more information on what theme you are using, and what you have done to it, in order to be able to point you in the right direction

In reply to: Permalink for Static PagesThe permalink slug is set the first time you save the page. So if you originally save the page with the title Trial First Page, then “trial-first-page” will be set as the slug to be used in the permalink. Even if you change the page title, this slug will persist.
If you want to change this slug, go to the page editor. The page URL will be displayed under the title. Click on the “Edit” button to the right of it and set the slug to what you want it to be (eg “company”)

In reply to: Extra image sizes (normal or not)?Your theme will normally define a number of image sizes that it will use, which it sound like you have already modified, in the functions file. WordPress itself also has some standard “thumbnail” sizes – this is probably where the extra image sizes are coming from.
