Newsletter images are typically not embedded in the email but rather links to external images. There is an addon that will let you use an external image as a feature image.

for the text link issue it sounds like you’ve got post set up to process text rather than HTML part of the email. Take a look at the preferred text type and post settings.

I see that your message is 8Mb in size and that you have 16 different image sizes set up. Sometimes WordPress seems to have a problem creating all the optional images sizes when the images come through Postie.

Is it possible to reduce the number of image sizes?

Can you decrease the size of the images in the email?

Can you allocate more memory to WordPress?

Ok I figure out the issue on my end (google was not forwarding emails it thinks are spam, should be fixed now)

I don’t see anything on the Postie side of things. I do see you have a bunch of other plugins, might be worth turning off everything then testing a Postie import, then turning them on one at a time with a Postie test inbetween to see if you can identify which of the plugins is causing the issue.

Could also be your theme.

Often when posting via the editor works, but not through Postie there is a plugin that assumes that all posts are created through the editor and had various hooks into the editor to do whatever special thing they do.

Unfortunately not. Plugins like WPML require some additional integration as they make the assumption that posts are created in the editor.

For whatever reason your email server is report 0 emails when Postie runs. What happens if you log into the email account and ensure they are all marked unread?

The images are part of the email, so if the emails can’t be downloaded there isn’t much you can do except extend PHP’s timeout.

If it is the attachment handing you could create an addon that skips them. See https://postieplugin.com/filter-postie_include_attachment/
