In reply to: Password not working for protected entriesi figured it out! i call the WP entries from a subdirectory and when you go to that subdirectory and type the password in there, it works.

In reply to: page looks weird in firefoxFirefox handles CSS differently than IE. i’ve never tried Opera so i can’t help you there. my site has spacing issues when viewed with IE vs Firefox.

In reply to: Password not working for protected entriesi hope this doesn’t get lost there, but i’m trying to enter the password to my first password protect (on 1.2 mingus) and it doesn’t open it up. i am running a few hacks and plugins (as seen on my etc. page) but i don’t know what to look for. i did clear out my cookies and my temp files already.

In reply to: RC1 Changed admin name and password – can’t logini didn’t change my username/password when i installed 1.2 but the problem was that after i uploaded all the files, i didn’t run wp-admin/upgrade.php. after i did, i was able to login with no problem. have you tried that?

In reply to: experiences with 1.2-epsilon-RC1disregard #3. i just did some forum research and it has been commented to death. i am very happy with 1.2 as it stands.

In reply to: experiences with 1.2-epsilon-RC1my two cents as i just upgraded to 1.2 epsilon over the weekend:
1. can not reply to comments from within the control panel anymore. i liked this feature when i had 1.01 and was saddened that i could no longer do that in 1.2. are we going to get it back?
2. deleting members w/ entries tied to them will eliminate the entries as well. that puzzles me. i have WP powering 3 blogs and pMachine powering my biggest blog (almost 6,000 entries across 10+ blogs). my pMachine blog is members only so who ever wants to read it has to register to become a member. if i find that the user is no longer visiting, i can easily delete the member but no comments or entries tied to that user are lost. i’d like to see that functionality brought into WordPress.
3. pardon me if this has been asked already, but it just came to mind and i haven’t had time to research it yet… where can i go to enabling pinging (options)? i have added weblogs.com and blogrolling.com as sites to ping but whenever i click on a new entry, “allow ping” is unchecked. in 1.01, you could set “enable pings” to true or false.
that’s all i can think of.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: 1.2-epsilon-RC1 not showing extended charsdoes this also apply to seeing backslashes before the apostrophe? like if i type “your’s”, it comes across as “your\’s”. and this ONLY happens in my comments, not in the entry body itself. what could that be?
here’s an example.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: how to delete registered usersLilandra! this works! thanks!
the only problem i have with this is that if the user is deleted and it has some entries tied to it, it deletes those entries, too… at least that’s what the warning says. i don’t really like that. fortunately, i was able to delete users that had no posts tied to them so i was safe in that respect.
on a related note, as an admin (level 10), how can i change the profile information for my members? it looks like i have to be signed on as the member in order to change the info. i should be able to do it as the admin.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: login ID “admin” can no longer sign on (5/14 nigbtw, the anonymous above was me, too.

In reply to: login ID “admin” can no longer sign on (5/14 nigwell, it would work if i actually followed the instructions and RAN upgrade.php. i’m no longer getting errors when i launch the blog itself, but i still can’t log in to wp-login.php as admin. (i only changed the password when i first installed.) any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
