Was just getting ready to post a support statement, but here it is already. Besides what you’ve mentioned here, the other things that broke is the ability to change the order of the carousel items.
Given that CoBlocks seems to be doing fast and furious updating, rather than downgrading to a previous release and waiting for them to work out the kinks, I just changed my carousel plugin to “SimpLy”. It’s nice. It has a fade setting, so I don’t have to do yet more coding.
I really liked CoBlocks because it was intuitive and seemed relatively lightweight. Hopefully they’ll take their time to test everything before rolling out another update, and publish a “how to” statement on fixing existing carousels.
Cheers
Hi there – so sorry. I just saw your reply. Yes, I have tried not only deactivating but deleting all other plugins and making sure they were gone from the plugin directory.
Bummer.
Hi Simon,
I did try it with the twentytwenty theme and I had the same issue. Site is live now, so can’t really try another theme again.
I was getting no JS errors.

In reply to: [Blocksy] How to override global Page Content Area PaddingOoops – there it is:
While editing a Page, click the gear to open Settings, Page Settings, Page Structure.
Set Content Area Style Source to “Custom”. The Blocksy documentation is so good, so I must have just missed it somehow.- This reply was modified 2 years, 10 months ago by wardencenter.

In reply to: Changing Site URL – What am I missing? Thanks, George. I understand everything you’ve said here and was guessing the “p.s.” that you quoted was the reason behind your instruction. I think the article I referenced is then in error because it clearly states all that’s needed to change a site url is changing one field from within the Dashboard.
I will do as you suggest, but will also write feedback on the original article I referenced, Changing the Site URL, to say that it needs amending.
Amendment to include same text from your article that an additional step of copying (or moving, depending, as stated) the files index.php, .htaccess/web.config, even if one only wants to change the site url without changing the location of WordPress core files.
Do you agree? Thanks again for your patience and for sharing of your knowledge.

In reply to: Changing Site URL – What am I missing?Well, I’ve asked for help, and you’ve been kind enough to reply and I sincerely thank you.
However, I do need to understand why the guide (that I did read, btw) “Giving WordPress its Own Directory” applies to my situation when it addresses moving a root install and/or moving the WordPress core files and then subsequently changing the site url. I do not need or want to move the WordPress core files. My WordPress core files reside in the default location of public_html/wp/ and I’m happy with them being in that location.
Hope that makes sense.

In reply to: Changing Site URL – What am I missing? My WordPress files reside in public_html/wp. Sorry I wasn’t clear on that.

In reply to: Changing Site URL – What am I missing? Thanks for the additional reply. Please forgive, but I’m not understanding.
What I need to do: Change my site url.
Can you help me understand why the article “Giving WordPress its Own Directory” is more applicable to my “specific use-case” than the article titled “Changing the Site URL”?Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Changing Site URL – What am I missing? Thanks, George, but I’ve no need to move my current WordPress installation/files to a different directory and then change the site url. I only want to change the site url so that the website is served from its root. As described in this originally linked article:
Are you saying the originally linked article, also an official WordPress support article, is incorrect? And, so I need to address the .htaccess and index.php/web.config files even though I’m not moving the wordpress files?

In reply to: [Blocksy] Changing Site URL breaks themeUPDATE: Please disregard. I removed and reinstalled wp a number of times, using a different theme each time. Issue occurs with every theme, even the default themes (twenty-twenty-one, etc). No amount of file of dB updating seems to fix the issue.
Will post question to general wp forum.
So sorry for taking up your time.

In reply to: [Blocksy] Changing Site URL breaks themeThanks for the reply. Domain is live, but site has never been live, fyi. Still in building phase. I can remove and replace the WP installation as I wish.
Site is hosted by ITXDesign.
I read this article to say that all that’s required is changing the “site url” setting, though it does give manual methods as options (see phrase “Every once in a while, somebody finds a need to manually change (or fix) these settings.”).
I did try the manual methods to see what would happen, but none of them fixed the problem. Thoughts?
Thanks again,

In reply to: [WP Page Builder] Only edits content areaHi Fahim,
Thank you very much for the reply. I did as you suggested and I can still only edit the content area.
Also, I can’t upload an image “Addon” into a row column. When I click on the “upload image” box, nothing happens. I can, however, upload a wordpress image Addon, but then I do not get the customizations that Page Builder’s image addon allows.
Maybe it is a compatibility issue? I am using WordPress 5.3.2 with php 7.4
I do like the WP Page Builder interface and I wish it would work, but I can’t seem to make it work… Open to more suggestions.
Kim
