Ok – I give. My WordPress install literally just updated to 5.9.
Rechecked my wp-config and the line
define( 'WP_AUTO_UPDATE_CORE', false );
is there just as it should be.Any other thoughts?? This is making me a little wacko now…
Thanks, John – will give it a look!
Thanks, Jan. Yes, I’ve seen those articles and ended up adding the “define” to my wp-config. Thanks for the sanity check that this is a good fix for the situation.

In reply to: [Blocksy Companion] Blocksy Companion Adding a Redirect 301?Sure – thanks so much for your help:
https://dewingsenter.org/wp_staging/
The only plugin installed and activated is Blocksy Companion (which is why the site looks so silly). If you plug that site into tools.pingdom.com you’ll see the results I reference. This is a staging of the main WP site. I’m in the final phase of checks/tests before migrating changes to the main site, but I’ll stay out until I hear back from you.
Thanks so much again.
Kim
Edit: I previously misspoke – I should have only one redirect for http/https… sorry about that.

UPDATE – Checked with my hosting provider. They do not push updates of any kind and confirmed they do not push updates to WordPress.
Any other thoughts?
Huh – reeeeally… I had never considered that perhaps my hosting provider was upgrading my WP site. Naughty.
Thanks much for the insight. I’ll check with my host.
How I disabled – When it was installed, and confirmed in “WordPress Management” > “Configuration”.

In reply to: [Media Library Folders] Broken images on “parent” of staging installThanks, Alan. Yes, that’s what I was thinking and how I understand the working of WP. But, that’s not what I am seeing. I wonder what could be the cause. Once I’m done with the staging site, this will be a non-issue, but thought it might be worth looking into for others.
Thanks for a fantastic plugin, btw!!
Best,
KimThanks, Milos. Yes, I posted an update in this thread that I noticed the reordering bug was due to WP 5.9.
On the “broken” carousel issue. Please see my “Update”, again in this same thread:
“Some images not sizing correctly or [not] displaying in proper aspect ratio.”I’ve since downgraded CoBlocks to 2.20 to get the site back to normal so, unfortunately, I can’t show you the problem.

Understood. Thanks so much!
Update – WordPress version 5.9 caused the issue with reordering slides in CoBlocks Carousel.
Downgraded WP to 5.8.3 and can now reorder Carousel Slides in latest ver of CoBlocks. However, carousel is still “broken” after upgrading CoBlocks. Some images not sizing correctly or displaying in proper aspect ratio.
Hi SimonPledge – ticking the “DOMContentLoaded event” did the trick.
Thank you!!
Kim
Thanks for the reply, Anthony. Good to know it’s in the works and thank you also for the CSS!
Cheers,
KimWould love to, but I had to quickly choose a different plugin for the masonry gallery – so CoBlocks masonry is no longer there.
I’m guessing by your response that this is not not normal and I should be able to choose to display the masonry gallery as two images wide? If so, where is this setting, please, and I’ll put the masonry back to coblocks.
Thanks!
Based on your username and the detailed info in your first reply I thought you were directly affiliated with SimpLy Gallery – that is, that you were either one of the creators or that you work for SimpLy Gallery. Is this correct?
Let me try being more concise:
1. My observation: The page with the gallery prompts me to Update as soon as the page is opened BEFORE anything has been edited or clicked. Is this normal?2. If it IS normal for the carousel to prompt me to update the page when NOTHING has been done or clicked on, what exactly is causing this?
Thanks for your time.
I understand what you’ve said, however, this happens as soon as a page is opened for editing – without clicking/selecting/changing anything on the page, to include the carousel. Also, no changes or additions have been made to the Media Library for days.
Perhaps…you’re saying that the SimpLy Carousel rechecks the Media Library when a page that contains the Carousel is opened for editing. Even though SimpLy Carousel finds no changes, the action of the SimpLy Carousel checking for those changes, sends some sort of “change notice” (for lack of the proper term) to the WordPress page so that the Update button is activated. If this is the case, this is odd. I’ve tried other Carousel blocks that lacked being user friendly, but that didn’t have this issue. If this is the case, is there no way besides inserting a short code (which are cumbersome and non-intuitive since they’re not “WYSIWYG”)?
I might not be the person who continues to maintain the website in the future so I have to think of other people.
Thanks for your reply and for you time.
