In reply to: [Rootspersona] rootsPersona Multisite Support?Great new! Thank you, ed4becky!
hkcharlie, on a rebuild, the plugin works beautifully. Somewhere there are crossed wires with those two plugins. If possible, I’d recommend a fresh start. Here’s hoping it was on a development site!

In reply to: Changing EmailChathamPublicHealth, “noreply” is the WordPress default “from,” but there are several plugins that can help you. One such plugin is Send From which is easy to put right into action. If that doesn’t suit you, trying searching the plugins for things like “mail from” or “noreply.” The WP Mail Options plugin offers a great deal of customization, if you are looking for the works. Hope this helps!

In reply to: Multisite: moderate new sign-ups and registrationsHave you tried the WP-Members? plugin? Anyone working successfully with this on a multisite install? Author reports it is “not officially multisite compatible,” but the plug is currently WordPress compatible to 3.3.1.

In reply to: Multisite: moderate new sign-ups and registrationsIt’s nuts, right? I’m doing a workaround. In a couple networks, I have achieved registration moderation by creating PHP forms for applying for site membership and for registering sites. On submission, that data sits in a table until transferred to the users table when I approve the requests.
To get around the hashing of passwords, the forms don’t ask for one from the user. Instead, I generate a random password and send it in the approval email asking new members and new site admins to change their password on first login.
How backwards! Makes a little more work for me, but I’d rather spend a minute more to have that user sign up and site registration moderation. What are others doing to work around this registration issue?
Several others have reported a similar problem in these support forums citing that it is an interaction with another plugin, chiefly Multisite Plugin Manager, that is causing the error you report.
This plugin is multisite compatible and works well in WP 3.3.1.

In reply to: [WP Multi Network] WP Multi Network – I'm lostThe plug is out-dated, but there is good news. The developer, John James Jacoby (bbPress, Buddypress, etc.), reports that “a freshened-up version of WP Multi Network” is actively being developed and is to be released “in a few days.”
Jacoby commented on Alan Tait‘s fix post “WP Multi-Network Plugin Fix for WordPress” in February 2012.
For the brave, there is also this interesting workaround from Guillermo Humberto Vera Amaro.
Did you ever figure this one out, Dimitri?
Did you happen to install BuddyPress Album first? I used BuddyPress Photos+tags in a sandbox earlier this month, and it worked like a charm. On the active site this week, I mistakenly installed BuddyPress Album. Realizing my mistake, I replaced it with this plugin. Now I’m having the same error you report. The two plugs share the same database tables. Dumping those didn’t seem to help. I’m stumped.
Jesse’s forums are down, so here’s hoping he checks in here. It’s a cool plug when it is working!
It is a styling conflict with themes which can be solved by a tiny edit of the CSS of the plugin.
In your dashboard, select Plugins > Editor. In the editor, select the plugin. In the plugin, select buddypress-sliding-login-panel/style.css
Look for this line near the top:
#iRToppanel{ position:absolute;top:0;left:0; width:100%;z-index:999
and just increase the z-index to something like 3000 to bring it to the front.
#iRToppanel{ position:absolute;top:0;left:0; width:100%;z-index:3000

In reply to: [Private BuddyPress] [Plugin: Private BuddyPress] Custom Login PageSorry. Thought the topic in the following link was regarding the redirect after login, but does seem to be regarding the issue of redirecting to a login page.
