Got it! Thanks Marco, I was using google chrome on this computer (my main desktop) for some reason internet explorer is very slow (on this computer) so I tried internet explorer on my laptop and started over with the youtube videos and it worked first time.

Thanks again for all your help.

I just noticed something…if you are familiar with the “restrict widgets” widget. I need to use it so I can have a different video on each page. On the display/hide widget choice, if I set it to hide all the pages I don’t want the video on I get the title I typed in and a blank space where the video should be. If I set it to display just the page I want, then there is nothing on the page – not even a blank space.

Not sure if that means anything to you!

Thanks for your reply Marco. I tried the same video on a blank test page – at first it didn’t work by using the youtube button and pasting in the link. Then I copied from the text in the embed section and pasted it straight into the text section of the page and it works.

I have also been using the “restrict widget” plug in so that I show a different video on each page. I just checked that all the settings were the same as on my other sites and they seem to be.

    Any ideas?

    thanks again

Hello esmi, Yes I was using a custom menu – I was following along with a youtube tutorial and my menu kept coming up different to the guy in the video.
Anyway, I got there in the end.

    Thanks for your help.

Sorry forestborj – we posted at the same time and I didn’t see your post.

Anyway, I managed to sort it out but thank you for your input.

    All the best

    Problem solved!

For anyone with the same problem – at the top of the “menus” page there is a button to manage locations, go to that page and make sure that primary menu is the one you have named at the to of the menu structure list.

Thanks a lot Michelle – just installed and used the “Restrict Widgets” as you recommended, it’s exactly what I needed. You saved me a lot of bother.

esmi – sorry I posted in the wrong place.

    Thanks again both of you.
