But i’m stil having the same issue: Backup run takes 968seconds (size of WP-Installation is about 70mb) and the created backup-archive is broken (can’t be extracted).

Hi, Daniel! First of all thank you for this great plugin.

I get the same WARNING. Here are the things i’ve tried:

-BackWPup > Settings > Tab: Jobs. Set max. execution time to 30 seconds
-switching betwenn PHP 5.3 / PHP 5.5
-switching between BackWPup 3.1.2 and 3.1.3-beta6

Another info, that maybe can help you:
This website is hosted on strato.de. (Another projects of mine are hosted by all-inkl.com and your plugin just works there, but not on strato.de)

If i can help somehow, please ask me.

Can also confirm this issue. Also i can confirm that the suggested workaround by switching PHP from 5.5 to 5.3 has helped me.

On a multisite WordPress Installation with 3 Sites the backup size was about 300-500 MB (can’t say exactly), and after an update it is 2,2GB.
