I almost always use this plugin. It doesn’t insert a lot of code and it is easy to adjust and manipulate with CSS.

This is more of a question for Facebook i guess. I think you can only see your friends likes, and probablly likes of people with more open privacy settings (who knows).

I know this is old thread, but I wonder if you resolved your problem.
