If the notifications are being sent (as shown in the email log) but not being delivered, this points to a potential issue with email delivery.

I’m not sure what’s happening but it does sound like this is still the WooCommerce notification as BNFW can’t usually override the notifications that WooCommerce sends due to the way it overrides the WordPress default notifications.

I’d suggest installing an email log plugin that tells you which function was used to send the email.
I think WP Mail SMTP Pro has this but not 100% sure. You can try Post SMTP first though as this is free.

That shouldn’t happen and in my experience, is usually due to another plugin sending notifications as opposed to BNFW, especially if the plugin is no longer active or installed, as the code that sends those notifications no longer exists.
Can you tell me the names of the BNFW notifications that you set up that are still sending?

I’ve now been able to identify some odd behaviour around comment moderation in BNFW which I think is what’s causing the issue.
I’ve logged a ticket internally to investigate this and will let you know how I get on in due course.

Can you confirm if you tested this when the FAQ plugin was deactivated? I’m wondering whether it’s causing an issue when enabled which is overriding either WordPress default comment behaviour and/or BNFWs comment behvaiour.

Thanks for your message.

BNFW doesn’t have any permanent settings and only overrides and extends WordPress notifications when the plugin is enabled. It’s possible object caching or something else is causing an issue here so it’s worth checking that.

For your second point, there isn’t a specific integration with either BuddyPress or bbPress so you may not find BNFW is a good fit when used in conjunction with these plugins.

Can you test this with the default WordPress comment form on a post and a New Comment notification to see if it’s still an issue?
I can’t seem to replicate it on my end.

How are you adding comments to the site? Is it via the default WordPress comment form, a form provided by another plugin/theme, or something else?
