Panic over, we ‘thought’ we had an up to date PHP version on this website – it turns out we hadn’t.

Now we’ve updated to PHP 7 it now works and connects ??

We are also still having the same issue… despite the above link (https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/pull/5096) stating it has been tested and works well.

Is this still being reviewed or not?

the plugin was updated but we have had to revert back to the previous version; when updated we seem to have issues.
