Hi again
My own PC has 6GB RAM and the table makes Chrome crash on this PC.
We have now tried it in two different PC’s each with 8GB RAM – and here the table works – but painstakingly slow.
I can use one of those PC’es for a while – but the experience isn’t exactly great.Do you have any idea if the plugin can/will be optimized in a way where this will be faster?
I really do like all the features of the plugin, so I would hate to change – but this is a bit difficult to work with for me.

ViviHi Tobias
It is strange.
It just tested again – and I got the same results as before.
I’m using the Chrome browser on my home PC – and this is the one where it crashes.
IE is on my work pc (can access it from home via VPN) – still the same errormessages. I just tried Chrome on this machine as well. The table also crashes it here.I tested one of the smaller tables just to see if that still worked – and it did just fine (on both pc’s).
Can it bee that my pc’s are now too old (not enough RAM) or something like that?
It worked on the machine with IE until the latest WP update – so maybe now WP uses more memory when rendering the page (and that causes trouble with big tables)???best
ViviHi there
I got help on making the wp-config.php file readable and writeable and added the line:
…but it didn’t change anything.
On my private pc I’m using Google Chrome withaout any extensions – and here the table makes Chrome crash on opening (we have discussed this before). Therefore I use another pc with IE 9 64bit version when using Tablepress (my own IE doesn’t work with it either) – and this have been working until this latest WP version. Now I can’t save anything in the table mentioned (I’m not even adding any new lines) – but gets the message “Saving failed: AJAX call failed: error – . Try again while holding down the “Shift” key.” – when trying.
When trying again while holding down the Shift key – the error message is: “Error. The table culd not be saved”.best
ViviHi Tobias
I’m stille getting the same Ajax-error – so I guess you’re using another browser than me.
My wp-config.php file appears empty when I open it in the file manager, but it’s 3.49 Kb, so I guess this is a little stunt from the hosting company. I’ve raised a ticket in their support system – and I’ll return here when theres something new.

ViviYezz. I’m aware of that.
But with a (growing)list of now 258 galleries – and adding a picture to approx 20 of them per day – it’s impossible to use the newer versions where you have to visually search through the dropdown for each of them. In stead I have written down the ID’s of the galleries (with their corresponding names) on my daily photolist – and I can easily find the ID on the dropdown list when I need to upload a photo. I’m not just using the newest galleries, bul almost all of them. And on top of that for each photoupload then to find the gallery again on the ‘Manage gallery’-list in order to maybe update the photo-info and rearrange the order of photos – well, it’s just not a possibility.
For my use the older versions works much better for now. I have made suggestions for the different kind of solutions for future versions that will help the likes of me, but am of course aware that there’s a lot of different requests from a lot of people and not everything will be done or done at once.
So instead of changing to another plugin, for now I just use the older version and wait ??I just followed the instructions on the page you gave me a link to Cais – and reverted to version 1.9.13. It seems to have worked perfectly.
Thanks a million :o)
I’ll keep an eye out for the features I need in coming versions of this nice plugin.

ViviHi there
Like JSF1000 I also have lots of galleries to which I add images all the time (daily).
Until now I managed by using an older version of NextGEN gallery, where the album number in the list on ‘Add Gallery/Images’ page helped me identify the correct album (awaiting alphabetical sort option) – and the ‘edit album’ link after at photo upload brought med directly to the album.
By accident I have now upgraded to the latest version along with all the other plugins that needed upgrading after latest WP upgrade :o(
Please help me identify which version of NextGEN galley I have to revert to – and how to do it without losing any content.
Meanwhile I have voted for the features I need – but I need them today, so going back is the solution for now.

ViviHi there
I’m having the same problem. Please post the solution if you find one.

ViviHi there
I’m sorry to say that I have the same problem using Chrome and a table with 926 rows and 11 columns.
Screen freezes in edit window.
Works fine in Explorer – but I’m not fond of being forced to switch to that.
I hope that a solution can be found quickly.best
ViviRelated issue:
It would be great if it was possible to have only galleries in an album of own choice shown, when looking for the correct gallery to add a new image to. I suggest that if more than one album is created by admin – you have to first pick the correct album including an option to have ‘all’ shown (galleries from all albums in one list like now).
I use galleries for different purposes (recipes, chiliplants, other stuff) and when adding new pic, I prefer not to see galleries in another category than the one I’m presently interested in.As trinzia mentions a search function and alphabetically sorting is a great wish from me as well.
I love the plugin – but desperately needs to cut down on the time used for searching the right gallery to upload latest pics to.
