to let the other readers know: Support didn’t experience the same issue, but all my friends testing it found the same error regularily (mainly in Firefox).
Cenote is therefore not suitable anymore for me, I hat to switch the Theme. Vilva does pretty good know, I was able to build a site looking very familiar with the old on – and it works!

I’ve deactivated all plugins, deleted all caches, and it is still crappy at the lower half of the page (also in each category).

i need to reload the page, than all appears correctly

and once again, I was able to help myself after posting this….

I just use the same font size for both.

In the meantime I found out how to show modification date, as it is already implemented in cenote_posted_on function, although it needed some adaption in CSS, in the if function checking modification time (get_the_time and get_the_modofcation_time just differed in seconds, although the post was nevered modified, and therefore there was always a modification date shown, even it is the same as post date) and additional text.

if it is possible to sort by modification date, that would be nice, but I’m good for now.

i’m using

in my custom CSS, but be aware that you then also don’t have the thumbnail as a link to your post.

I just used another plugin (“Smush”), with the same result. lazy loading turned off showed no issues again.

it seems some more people have this issue. I had too, but I found out that in my case the Autoptimize plugin’s feature of delayed loading of not visible images caused that issue. maybe other caching plugins will result in something similar. Something (CSS? i’m not a pro) is not working properly, when not all content is loaded immediately?
