Thank you, @georged8. I thought as much that the problem must have occurred in my hosting backend since I couldn’t see any new page/category on WP. Avast was making it impossible to access my cPanel, until I decided to disable it briefly today. I have deleted that folder as you advised.
@esmi, thanks for your input as well. The first of the resources you suggested was among the ones I had read before coming here. I was having a challenge of ‘information overload’ considering the technical nature of the whole thing. I had thought I could avoid those somewhat technical resources and the seemingly daunting tasks proposed. ?? But I was forced to return to them.
I have done virtually everything suggested and I’m trying to request a review to see how it goes.
