• (Note: I’m using WP 3.01 and latest version of the NEXTGEN gallery plugin.)

The plugin is great, BUT …

I have searched for an hour and can’t figure out how to display more than 1 “gallery” or more than 1 “album” — on a PAGE or IN A POST in WordPress.

So, is there really NO way to do this with the NEXTGEN plugin? If so, that’s a shame, and can I ask if anyone knows of another gallery plugin that WILL let you do this? Sorry, but I’m very confused here.

Thank you very much for any help. ??

  • Glad you were able to make it work! Very odd that you were having that problem to begin with!

    CarpetGuy,

Looks like the reason yours is working is because there is text after your first gallery (2nd gallery, etc). When I try to do two galleries right after each other ([gallery=2] [gallery=2]) it doesn’t work. I get one gallery showing up fine, but the second with the code [nggallery id=”2″] instead of the actual gallery.

But when I put a comma after the first gallery code ([gallery=2], [gallery=2]) they both show up fine! except I don’t want any text between the galleries.

This has to be a stupid glitch or something.

Try it out and see if you guys get the same issue/solution.

I created an album template that does a good job of using the shutter effect. Check it out…

This more than likely could be implemented better but, it works ??

Had this same problem too and this solution totally fixed it as well.

if you’d like to get around putting any text between them just use a space, I’ve found it to work just the same and makes no difference on your page ??

Tested this today, and the solution is completely trivial:
Make sure there is at least one SPACE between the two shortcodes. The second shortcode needs to be separated from the first or it doesn’t work.
Edit: Oops, missed the text above. Putting a space between the shortcode works without using albums and editing templates though.

This works great. But in those rare instances, how could you show both of these galleries as a single gallery as opposed to two separate galleries?

You could use tags for this: Assign a unique tag to the images you wish to show and then use the following shortcode:

    [ nggtags gallery=tag1,tag2,… ]
