If you’re asking me to screw up my site again, the answer is no. Sorry. I did manage to get it to work, however, by inserting inside the post.php but using the files list interface instead of the template interface (if that maks any sense) Seems to be working now.

I think from now on I’m going to make code changes via ftp, so I can better see what I’m doing wiht out all the line breaks and such that automatically happen in the html editors.

yes, when I added it to the post.php, it screwed something up. I have no idea why. I had to replace most of the files (with originals) to get the blog working again. I thought it might have been a syntax error, but I went through each line of code. There must have been a conflict or something. I don’t dare try it again.

Also found this, which may be a solution for some:
    https://performancing.com/firefox

    has anyone tried this?

To answer Stevation, I’m using xp pro. But that’s not it…

Okay, signed up at wordpress.com and the html popup editor works in Firefox. But, it’s comlpetely different than the one on my site and I’m using the newest release (2.0.2). Is the wordpress installation older? And is there a way to interchange (downgrade?) the scripts for the editor?

I notice that the wordpress.com installation doesn’t have a post preview. Has anyone tried the html editor after disabling the preview?

no “error,” but post preview stopped working and every post was empty except for comments. The content was gone.

I guess I should say that I’m using the connections theme on 2.0.2

“The only one that doesn’t handle the WYSIWYG editor “properly” is Opera 9. “

A quick glance at this thread tells me that isn’t true.

But, let me ask you this: does your windows machine(s) have sp2 installed? maybe that’s the problem. (never thought of that.) Could there be something in sp2 (a security update or something) that is preventing the html editor (within the WYSIWIG editor) to work correctly? I’ve tried on Mozilla, Firefox default settings (no extentions), Sea Monkey, Opera– a fresh installs– none of which worked. And I really doubt anyone intended this thing to ONLY work in IE.

I guess I shouldn’t have jumped the gun here, but with all the comlpaints about this not working it just doesn’t appear to be a simple browser issue.

not in the themes folder. I assumed the post.php inside my theme folder was the one called for archive pages.

    I’m using 2.0

Doesn’t work on Firefox 1.5.0.2 Windows, however, nor Opera’s newest 8.x build. I don’t think this should be treated as a browser bug. It’s a WordPress issue. This feature should have been tested on all available browsers at the time of release AND all platforms. I know there are a ton of Macophiles here, but let’s not forget that ninety-some percent of the world is still using Windows. More thorough testing could have prevented it. One of the attractive features (for me) was the WYSIWIG editor, but it, in fact, only works on Macs and in Internet Explorer (and I’m not switching back to IE just to use WordPress). So, had I know this beforehand, i would have gone with another blogging system. Developers should make sure their stuff actually works before advertising it.

I guess there is no solution other than wating for another release of Firefox, or Opera 9 to finally come out of Beta. Or buy an over-priced Mac.

Nope, never used the framebusting plugin. I had to reinstall the entire blog to get it to work properly again. The only thing I did was add the wp-email plugin right before it happened, but I have no idea how that could have done this. I went through each line of code in the templates, cleared teh cache, nothing worked. I’m getting pretty leary of plugins at this point. It seems most of them were built for 1.5 and are not fully tested for 2.0.

Is there a way to add the email link to archived pages? So far I can only get it to show on the front page. If I try to put the call to funtion inside the post.php it screws up the entire site.

Same problems here. No one seems too interested in solving this one.

This just happened to me. Was fine before but now, for some reason i get the same thing.

    okay, got it to work

had to delete the xml settings file and remember to open iTunes AFTER iTunesblogger is running

but I can’t get the artwork to show….

    still working on it.

Great plugin. Tricky little bugger, but great

    [Table ‘wp_itunes’ doesn’t exist]
SELECT * FROM wp_itunes ORDER BY added_date DESC LIMIT 1

same problem here as many above. Is there no solution?

From what I’ve discovered, this seems to be a Firefox problem. It works fine in IE, Opera, etc. This is on a windows machine.
