Stripelink is not enabled for me in stripe payment settings and this text keeps showing in email label field. I have tested it with twenty twenty four theme as well and all plugins disabled except woocommerce and stripe and the issue persists.

I did some debugging on the button html code getting inserted in email placeholder text and found that it’s coming from stripe related to stripelink feature. The button is getting added with “display:none” set. See this screenshot: https://ibb.co/HgX8QQL.

Stripelink is not enabled in my stripe dashboard. Can you please help me understand why this button code from stripe is getting added to label field and how can I remove it?

Hi,

I have disabled all the plugins to test new checkout experience only with woocommerce. Now only woocommerce and stripe plugin are activated.

1. Button html issue is resolved. I’ll figure out which plugin is causing it but it’s not a major source of concern for me.
2. Form fields are still not displaying in stripe checkout form. This is the biggest problem. Customers can’t place order without this working.

I also observed that when checkout page is loading, sometimes the checkout field frame tries to load (shows for a brief ms), but then disappears.

Can you please check what in the new checkout experience could be causing the issue?

The html code related to button is getting inserted when I enabled the new checkout experience. I have mentioned this in this thread above. Here’s what I mentioned earlier:

One observation (could be unrelated but happened last time too): When stripe form fields stop displaying, my email box placeholder text gets appended with “<button class=&quot;stripe-gateway-stripelink-modal-trigger&quot;></button>”

I have disabled all plugins except woocommerce related and a few more that are required for the website to function. As mentioned earlier, the html code is only getting inserted with new checkout experience. It goes away with legacy checkout.

Please let me know once you have checked. I will enabled the plugins and switch back to my theme.

Hi,

I am using checkout block in test mode. As soon as I switch to legacy checkout experience, form fields start displaying. Can you please explain how webhooks are related to checkout form display issue?

Also, keys are set correctly because it was working fine till a few days back and I was able to place an order in test mode. I switched to legacy experience for some testing after which when I re-enabled new checkout experience, form fields (card related details form) in checkout form stopped displaying.

I changed theme from Astra to twenty twenty four – same issue

Please check. As I mentioned earlier, when the issue showed up last time, it automatically got fixed without me doing any changes from my end.

Just wanted to open this thread again. I have recently started facing this issue again. It shows up intermittently – sometimes form fields show up and sometimes they don’t. Please check this.

When it doesn’t show up, only test mode message is shown and all form fields don’t display.

After checking the plugins through activation/deactivation process, I noticed that the error shows up when I activate “Snippets” plugin. Other plugins don’t cause this error. In this plugin, I have some custom php code.

Here are 2 code snippets that seem relevant to stripe:

However, none of them can cause stripe to return the error I am facing.

According to this thread, it appears that first name and last name validation that should be handled on frontend is getting passed to stripe backend. Can you tell me what needs to be done to fix the error or your thoughts on it?

Thanks for your reply Rajesh. I did check the threads you’ve suggested before reporting this issue. However, not clear on how the solution provided serves as workaround:

We can’t automatically mark order status to processing without actually checking if stripe payment went through or not. Please let me know if I am getting the intent of this function wrong.

Also, can you please confirm these 2 things:

1. We haven’t noticed this issue in the last 1+ year with hundreds of transactions. However, in the last 3 days, this has happened thrice.
2. By when is the issue expected to be be fixed? I can see that the thread is a year old when the issue was first reported. It will help to have some timelines in mind.

While I check some of these things, can you please help me with the following:

1. When does stripe throw this error? From the error message, I can’t figure out what exactly it’s asking me to do. This will help debug the root cause.
2. I noticed that the error shows up only when I use “apply coupon” on checkout page. Can you help understand what this might mean in the context of coupon.
3. Any other pointers to debug the issue. I don’t think plugin or theme is the issue because as soon as I switch to old checkout experience, the issue goes away. I will still try to follow the suggestions you posted earlier and revert back with my findings.

Fatal error logs: None created for today or yesterday.

Enabled stripe logs. No fatal or other error logs generated and the same error message is shown on checkout page. Also, the issue goes away when switched to legacy checkout experience.

I checked this again today and without doing any changes from my end, the issue is now resolved. I can see all the form fields properly displayed. I am assuming that your plugin team did some changes to resolve the issue.

There’s an additional issue though, in the card number form field, card icons are displayed by stripe. See image: https://ibb.co/smc72XV.

I want these disabled. I have tried setting css as .p-CardIcons {display:none;} but it doesn’t work. Is there another way to stop showing these card icons?
