In reply to: [Order Delivery Date for WooCommerce] Dates blocked on checkout pageI have 10th to 29th September blocked out. Probably a bug with the latest plugin update?
Thanks for the response. Any idea why the Site Stats wouldn’t load and output a Error 500 in my browser’s Javascript console? I have other WordPress installations with the same host and the site stats seem to load fine. Also, oddly, the other sites also doesn’t cause a max_user_connections error when loading the Jetpack dashboard.
Is 15 connections per user insufficient to run Jetpack and to view the dashboard site stats even when no other plugins are active? I get the same error in the debug log when using the WooCommerce iOS app and it’s unable to load orders (intermittent).
I was under the impression that 15 max_user_connections wouldn’t cause issues because my WooCommerce site only receive less than 100 visitors a day with less than 10 orders placed daily. Moreover, I am facing the same issue on my staging site with zero activities, it reaches max user connection just by me loading Jetpack’s dashboard and that’s really peculiar.
I am willing to upgrade my hosting plan if it’s confirmed that the issue is really just about a lack of resources rather than a bug with Jetpack or a plugin conflict or just a badly coded program somewhere. Would appreciate an opinion on this.
Thanks for the reply. I have recently added dynamic pricing with WPC Composite plugin. Prices change dynamically depending on the options a user select, but the Shipping Discount plugin is unable to capture the final pricing — thus the discount is not applied even when the order is above a certain amount.
I am actually running a storewide shipping discount for orders above a certain amount. Is there a way for me to edit the plugin so that it applies the shipping discount based on the total order amount instead of shipping class?
Thanks again.

In reply to: Upgrading theme files for nested comments@alchymyth I don’t have IE7. Maybe you can try using Firefox? The comment section looks fine now because I am using the default comments.php code. This theme is old, and when it’s released, WordPress doesn’t support nested comments yet. Now that WordPress supports it, my theme is not compatible with that. I need to edit my comments.php in order for it to work with the nested comments.
This is what I’m trying to do (without success): https://www.niharsworld.com/2008/12/16/how-to-implement-threaded-comments-in-wordpress-themes
@rvoodoo: I saw that great blog post before. Too bad, it’s only telling me how to enable nested comment, which will have no effect unless I update my comments.php accordingly.

In reply to: Upgrading theme files for nested commentsThat code I linked above is the original comments.php. I tried modifying it to make it works with nested comments, but it don’t play well with my theme.
Here’s my blog’s link: https://www.sheeptech.com
Thank you ??

In reply to: Multistep image upload in 2.7: yuckI couldn’t agree more with gadlen. Internet users love getting things done fast.
Click on image upload icon -> wait wait wait and wait (this part doesn’t make sense) -> click on browse icon -> browse file -> uploading… -> click “insert post” -> done.
Note that while having all the extra clicks as above, the screen is freezed and you could do nothing but to wait for your upload to be done. Isn’t that a waste of time?
And that’s when flash works. When it doesn’t, like you’re having Flash 10 Beta, it’s even more frustrating. Click on image upload icon, wait wait wait, click on browser uploader link then repeat as above.
What’s the point? While in older WP, you can browse your files to be uploaded right when you are writing! In the same page itself. No need of clicking anything to fetch the uploader, no need to wait for the uploader to load, no need to worry about flash.
I’m definitely hope something can be done. At least it would be great if someone can write a plugin that can return the old uploader. As gadlen mentioned, I have tried searching plugins that will do that, but so far I haven’t found one.
Some people like Otto might prefer the new uploader, so it would be good if there’s an option to choose.
In short, I dislike the new uploader very much.
